I think there's enough people on this board that have SxS's that we could do an EPO. What do you guys think? Is there one already and I'm just not cool enough to know about it?

There hasnt been a SXS EPO. I havent heard any grumblings about one but that doesnt mean it will never happen! Who knows what the future holds

I think the number of SxS that would actuly finish a SxS EPO would be verey low you think the Buggys break alot. Went to a SxS race and one guy broke a belt at the line and finished 3rd out of 8. Also the number of flippers would be rather high. And lastly do we realy need another EPO for the Funco Guy's to dominate.

race SXS's break down alot more than duners or fun only rides. less one off stuff to dial in. i dont know all the details of the EPO but my rhino has 2200 miles of hard thrashing thru huge whoops, jumping, ive rolled it over down a dune 4 times over, and the only thing ive ever done is break axles or pop beads, they are actually really very durable and i think would be just fine IMHO. id be down to try. if they can race them in baja they can have a race in G. and i doubt funco will dominate the SXS's. there are some engine swapped rides that will blow your mind how fast they are. ever seen a rhino wheelie down olds?

Word has it they considered a SXS EPO but when I said I was going to race they said "Awe heck, why bother, we all know KG will win it."

I like the sounds of this, but I don't see a stock motor'd rhino having any shot if their are any Cat 1000s in the mix. Got a ride in one over Prez day and that puppy hauled the mail!

If I could get the time off, I'd be in...
There would have to be different classes to account for the various speed mods that some peeps have.

My thoughts to make it somewhat equal with the difference in the motors etc, is that you do it as some type of checkpoint race throughout the dunes. Not something with 4 or 5 checkpoints but something with15-20 if logistically possible. Have to run them in order, quickest time wins..........

A stock motored rhino had no shot from the rhinos, teryx's, RZR's with built or swapped motors, the cats still dont have long travel, i ride with one alot and he beats you up every hill but he still has to slow for bumps where i just hammer down, so until LT is available for the cats it still kinda even, thru the dunes anyway... keep in mind a good 686 built rhino puts out a good amount of power. i would think a guy like gregC with his R1 swapped rhino, or max powers or someone with a rotax rhino, or glamis pilot is really fast in his RZR, its anyones game, like i said before, there are alot more really fast SXS's than most people think......but you are right, a stock anything will not win!!!!

I'll go through it at 10mph and be the only one not flipped and all in tact!! In fact my design on mine will make me LOOK faster!!

I think if we did there should be a stock class and an LT class.

That or design the track in such a way that it doesn't matter, make it more about maintaining momentum.

I'm more interested in being invited to the quad EPO to see how bad I get smoked by the "fast quad guys". or even if I could keep it together on that hardcore quad course and finish the race. That sounds like fun. Man, it would suck to get beat by a UTV huh? Kind of like getting your (_|_) kicked by a midget. You're fellow fast quad riding friends will never let you live it down. Anyone? Anyone? Quadder?

Would be interesting. I know at one EPO I did the slowest buggy was faster than the fastest quad by a good amount. But then again a lot of Side X Sides are much slower than quads. So a highly modified SXS would make it interesting.

Lets do this!

I say three classes, one for stock (no LT)

one for LT cars and one thats open for the race cars to run with motor swaps and all that.
