So my buddy Tom "Underway Boats", lost his dog this past weekend..being a lifelong Navy man, he had to come home monday and give up the search...he is beyond wrecked about this...and his daughter does not know yet....we are going back out this weekend to search again..I got a few jeep buddies to join us, and am asking if anyone can help out for a day ride and be part of the campaign, it would be a huge appreciation....
we wil be off I-15 and Outlet center drive....
anyone ever wanted to show their appreciation to our military folks, here is a good opportunity..Tom has served in our military for over 20 years...
calling all GD folks who can help out.........Pm me if you feel like riding in the socal desert.....

When I was a kid our little weiner dog got away while camping in Salt n Sea. He lived out there for a week or so. We had put up a note in the little store there and we got a call from a someone who lived across the hwy. They had him

I can't believe such a little dog could live out there for so long.
So keep your chin up... I have faith you'll find him.

Lost, found and reunited: German shepherd missing for 9 years found in TennesseeBy Associated Press
8:42 AM EST, February 27, 2009
PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (AP) — A German shepherd named Astro who has been missing from his family for more than 9 years is finally home.
The Geary family was shocked when they recently received a call from an animal control officer who said that Astro had been found.
The dog went missing from the Geary family's Port St. Lucie, Fla. home shortly after the family adopted him. Since then, they have moved three times and ended up in Louisville, Ky.
On Jan. 29, 2009, an animal control officer in Tennessee picked up Astro after receiving a report about a dog running loose. Officers tracked down the family through a microchip implanted in the canine.
Dennis Geary says he wasn't sure if Astro would remember him. But when they were reunited, the dog sat down and began licking him.

We will have a couple cars out in that very spot on Saturday, for suspension tuning & some R&D, so we will be there most of the day.
I will pass the info out to the people we will have out there.
Can you either pm me some contact info or call me so we can have that info if we find him?
Good Luck,
John

no luck thus far..we did have the Soggy Bottom creek boys run their jeeps into town and PLASTER outlet center and Barstow/Lucerne with posters and a 500 dollar reward..hopefully somebody will collect on that in the future.....made another trip last night for a dead one..but didn't look like him..had a call today and e-mailed pics..no luck
money is money..were thinking of upping the reward to 2000 in hopes of motivating folks up there...a lost kid is a lost family member..I'll throw down for that...my buddy is suffering..what are friends for?
He is pulling duty tonight and I have had another call that did not pan out....sucks....praying for a miracle....

I hate these threads... gosh its not been that long... It could still happen... ALOT of people post found animals in lost and found on craigslist too!! Check there!!
My Roxy (yellow lab) was chipped... unless someone does right by taking them in, the chip does no good...

I definilty have been looking into the GPS units... ALOT of money, but if its part of your family... what can you do?

Good luck!!

I CAN NOT BELIEVE IT..THE DOG WAS FOUND...Tom got a call this morning by some folks out camping off Stoddard wells area..they were on a ride and saw the dog..it came to them..they saw the collar and the number and called....boy were they shocked to learn the dog has been out there for 3+ weeks. I guess they thought it was somebody's dog out there camping this weekend. Tom booked it up there and called me to confirm he has him...said the dog jumped on him and licked him something fierce...told me he looks great and not skinny, just a nasty looking tail (hair) otherwise he looks excellent. I just wanted to thank all of you for the prayers and well wishes..not sure who cried more, Tom or the dog....there is a little girl who has been touched by the power of prayer.....it makes me so happy for all of them.....

I followed this thread and am super happy the outcome. Almost makes me want to start leaving a bucket of water on the desert side of my trailer while camped so that lost pets who might not come into the circle and allow contact might drink from the bucket and get some needed water until they are found. That bucket might attract unwanted critters though.............................
