Probably Super Burger at the SR22. Or Travertine Grill (good food) at the corner of SR22 and 86. They are across the street from each other. To get to Super Burger you have to go under the highway via a wash just North of Travertine Grill.

Easiest way is to take Pole Line Road to Tule Wash. Go right on Tule Wash to Hwy 86. Go up embankment on west side of 86 and follow the dirt road up into "town". Most people I know go to the mexican food place though the Travertine Grill is getting more popular. In the not too distant future, that new AM/PM truck stop will be open right there as well....I think one of the standard fast food places are going to be inside as well.

we have ridden or bikes to "town" following the Tule wash route for years..with no problem....
Travertine is o the same side of the freeway as Ocotillo..so follow pole line up to it..or go up the road next to the freeway before going under the bridge..there are dirt paths that lead to both of them...
The Mexican place kicks butt...and the service is awesome.....
We made it to the Traventine, thanks it was awesome. I was surprise it was so new, I was totally expecting some little mom and pop shack in the middle of no where LOL. So where's the Mexican place.... furthere down the road??? What's it called

It's directly across highway on the south side of the 86. BE EXTRA CAREFUL if you are going to cross the 86 though, that traffic is moving at freeway speeds!! It's best to cross under the 86 before you get to town to begin with.

PLEASE DO NOT CROSS THE 86 WITH KIDS...THE TRAFFIC IS DOING BETWEEN 60-90 MPH.. that is hard to judge and death is guaranteed.. go south for approx 1 mile along the freeway fence and go under the freeway to the other side..it is fun to ride and SAFE..love your life and your kids...take time for safety......

If you're coming from Ocotillo take the Pole Line Road north past the dump to Arroyo Salada (Salad Wash), turn right and follow to, and under Hwy 86, then take the dirt road next to Hwy 86 north to get to the Mexican Place.
Same route to get to Travertine Grill, except don't go under Hwy 86.
Both places are highly recommended!

I'm really bummed out about superburger closing. That was our lunch spot. They had the best shakes. Looked like business was pretty good during the season, but i guess not good enough. I'll have to try out Travertine and the mexican place.

Yes......no problem. LT buggies......lifted jeeps ect ect. Anything on wheels that you drive in the Dez will fit under no problem.
Please peeps......DO NOT cross the 86. I've seen people doing well over 100mph and because it's a straight road right there it is VERY hard to judge speed and distance.
