have a 06 660 with a rhinocraft 6in kit. the kits l/r axle broke 4 months ago so i bought gear one axles for it.since then the l/r axle has come outof the outer c/v twice ,clip broken everytime. with it at ride height i can pull the l/r axle out of the c/v and the r/r axle is missing clip also and can be pulled out within 1/8in from coming out. do i have the wrong axles? or is it just a clip problem? does anyone know what length the axles should be? thanks in advance ryan

your axle is either short or you are installing wrong a new clip is a good idea, but you can reuse if not damaged ,if i were you i would take out the axle and measure it. maybe they sent the wrong one or right,and left got switched i have had lots of problems with major companys but not that one.THe axles are diffrent lengths.

the problem is i dont know what length i need and rhinocraft closed down. with the original l/r shattered i cant measure it

The rear ProCraft kit uses a standard +6 axle so the length should be right if the gear one is a true +6 length. I have a few Summers Brothers/ ProCraft rear axles left in stock if you want to try that route.

About the only time I have seen stock CV's pull out is when the axle is too short. The clip could be the culprit but more than likely the axle is too short. You can also check to make sure the cv isnt binding or plunging like it should.

If the outer joint is starting to go bad and is binding in the travel that would cause the axle to pull out by not letting it plunge properly.You just may need to replace the cv cage,and rebuild it.I would check into the Gear-One race cages they work great have had good luck with them.

i have seen the gear one cages but i cant get the stock cage out of it. all i can get is the balls out.SDR i called today but got the machine. anyone know what the stock or +6 length is for l/r and r/r? thanks ryan

If your local just bring it by and we can take a look at it for you. Ive got a few stock CV's laying around if you need a new cage or complete inner CV.
