So we stopped at Olds sat morning and who should come over to look at Holdens car but some guy with a Joe Gibbs Racing shirt on. He asked Holden a few questions about the car and the motor. Im looking at him going, that looks like Joe Gibbs. About that time Holden asks him if he wants a ride. He says sure. So Holden goes over to his wife Nancy and whispers in her ear: " Thats Joe Gibbs and he wants a ride. Get the eff out!". So off they go for 10 or 15 minutes playing on the left side of Olds then up and over. When they come back, Mr Gibbs is grinning ear to ear and wont get out of the car.

Funniest part was Holden was wearing a Greg Biffle/ Roush- Fenway hat. We hid it when Mr Gibbs came over, but Holden put it back on after he walked away. He saw it and came back over to get info on where to send the Kyle Busch hats!

And the worst part, none of use had cameras or a camera phone!!!

But it is a true story...

Sounds like somebody might have missed an opportunity? Busch, Mears, Biffle etc are dune guys. How did Gibbs get to Olds? Me thinks there may have been more folks of interest there? Cool just to meet coach, but hmmmm.....

Mr Gibbs was with his Sons and grandkids. They had rented quads and those pilot things from vendor alley. Me Gibbs was bandaged on his knee from a get off on one of the quads, so they put him in pilot thing.

I've seen picture's of Supreme Air duning, but still haven't seen any picture's of Mr Gibbs in the dunes.

Should have said enjoy it before the greenies/RR shut it down. Maybe couldve gotten some exopsure.

Holden called us the next day pretty excited and told us all about it. Hope we hear from Joe himself, that would be cool!!!

Oh yeah and just think about the motor he can put in a sandcar with his own engine shop!!

Gibbs son runs the Joe Gibbs Yamaha/Toyota supercross team. Robby gordon probably had a talk with him. I saw video of robby around. yamaha Just had there quad test last week and Gibbs being apart of yamaha....

Yeah yeah yeah. Is there a smiley for kickin my own butt?? We started out making a quick trip to vendors because I forgot to put my gas cap back on and lost it. Forgot the phone and figured it was a quickie deal. We ended up blasting to Sweet Maries because nobody had it at vendors. Stopped at Olds on the way back.

And Holden now has a large stack of SCU cards and a boot print from Kathy on his backside...

he had 4 banshee's out there. he just wanted to ride in a rail cause he wanted to get one . i heard after that weekend he bought some high dollar car with a ls7.never saw a pic so i dont know. and amazingly enough he was really cool offering all of his stuff up and hanging out. not whining like on t.v. by the way i am a roush fan!!!

If you look this was posted back on March 5th.
This took place the weekend prier during the Nascar Las Vegas race when all vendors were open and renting toys.
Coach Gibbs and a few of his friends rented some quads and were ridding around to see what glamis was all about.
We were on are way back from sweet Marries to get parts and stopped at olds for a break.
None of us had our cameras with us.
Joe had taking a tumble on his quad and twisted his knee, he came over and was talking to us about our cars and how he thought this would be a better way to get around.
I offered him a ride he accepted, I took him up olds and played a little in the bowls around back.
End of story.
