Full Version: Sand In Ocotillo?
could someone please tell me where sand dam(?) is or any other good sand spot in ocotillo. i want to get my friend used to sand on a bike before i take him to glamis. thanks!
blow sand hill its small though there is another place out off of shell reef rd/trail that has some sand can't rememebr how far
There is quite a bit of sand at Superstition which is about halfway between the 8 freeway and highway 78, near El Centro. You can see it from the freeway. Look on google earth and you'll see it. I'm actually thinking of going out there in a week or so on a Sunday maybe.
maybe better to take to supersition first great place to learn

Sand Dam is at Superstition.
Superstition is off of a dirt road called Wheeler Rd. You have to follow that road for about 6 miles to get to the base of all the sand. Wheeler Rd is off of Huff Rd.

If you are wanting a warm up for Glamis, then Superstition is a much better choice for sand. Ocotillo is limited to a blow sand, sand washes, and a dune at the base of Devils slide.
When you want to do a nice ride you can go from ocotillo to superstition.
