dunno haven't talked to devin. I talked to Brad (motoworld-15 on the board here) who does the track across the highway from this one, he said he thought it was some motorcycle club that is doing it. from what i saw when i drove by it didn't look like Devins handywork. Im thinkin maybe George Williams. the guy who built the origional track in this same spot. I'll try to find out......

You may be right. Heard from another person that his kitchen creek track was getting alot of attention so he worked out a lease with the indians for the acorn track. plans are for the current track, and later a supercross track and more technical mx track. I'm going to try to get ahold of him and find out.

Less than 2 hrs away, and I bet it's cooler than Yuma. Sweet - found my summer riding spot

Mar 30 2009, 04:24 PM
temps on the hill are usually about 15 degrees cooler then the desert in the summer. and they get a good breeze up there. its definately tolerable in the summer

Yep! My uncle used to have a track about 2 miles south of the Casino. We would be up there all summer riding. Can't wait to try this place out. If my Sandcar eventually sells I might also buy a 09KX450F for a track bike as well

I haven't raced motocross in over 3 years but I'm getting the itch again. We need to ride one of these days Matt!

I haven't ever ridden track but I've been riding desert since I was 8. I'd really like to get into checking out some tracks and this one isn't that far away. I'd like to go when some others go too!

Is this where that track used to be, like past the casino for 10 mins then thru that little town under the 8 and it was on the right hand side? Wasn't very well kept but was free and we used to be up there all the time in high school, nice little step up in the back.

i never noticed any jetting issues (was jetted for 2k ft), but back then i really didn't care. elevation is 4180ft approx.
EDIT: BTW drove through there today, looks like they are still at least 2-3 weeks before that track is ready to ride. unless they put in some 8 hour days

Hey guys, also wanted to add in this post. D38 has been in negotiations with a land owner up in Live oak springs also and finally came to an agreement. Looks like there will be another track up there as well! We are trying to extend the D38 season into the summer months, so this track will be used during those times. They are talking about racing in July up there! Around a 3 mile MX type track.. But very mellow with some elevation changes(similar to Glen Helen) Should be a nice facility when done!

they are scattered around the golden acorn casino. there is the live oaks track, there is motoworld-15 from the boards track, devin defforest has one nearby, jeremy mcgrath has one a few miles to the west, there is one near boulevard, and one behind live oaks to the north east.
