Mrs. Bear Down
Hi Guys,

Some of you know, Bear Down took a pretty good spill on Friday afternoon, anyhow, now we gotta fix it. icon_blackeye.gif

Looking for the following:

New Plastics... a new color would be cool..
New Steering Column? Pole? Cylinder? What is that thing called?
Rear Six Pack rack, that can be welded on, since the grab bar broke off.

More to be posted as we assess the damage... icon_confused.gif

Thanks,
Monica

try looking at the for sale section in this forum:

http://www.exriders.com/vbb/

Probably find some good tech advice there too. Might as well use the situation as an opportunity to do some upgrades...icon_smile.gif

you also might try ebay, and search on 400ex

You might see if the subframe is removeable on those bikes..If so, you could get a new subframe, and that would take care of the broken grab handle.

The steering thingy you are talking about is usually called a "steering stem"

try servicehonda.com for great prices on stock parts

The sub frame on the 400EX is removable, but they are expensive to replace. I would just square off the end and weld on some brackets so you can use an aftermarket bolt-on grab bar. (see pic below for how mine looks)

And Beach Head is correct, there are always stock stems for sale at EXRiders.

Service Honda has the best prices for oem parts hands down, no comparison. BTW, oem plastic is the least expensive out there.

With all the time and money you have in that quad, couldn't you have painted your garage walls?

Nope, spent all the money on the quad, couldn't afford paint. Spent all my time wrenching on the quad, didn't have time to paint anyway. icon_biggrin.gif

Actually it's better this way. Now when I get mad and fling a tool across the garage, all I have to do is slap some mud on the wall and I'm done, no paint touchup required. icon_wink.gif
