here is my problem, I was cleaning my raptor after Prez. Weekend, and noticed that one of my bump stops split into two pieces, its the black rubber cone shaped piece that goes around the shaft of the shock, I called up works performance (they are works steeler triple rate shocks), they said it was like a $5 part, but I have to remove the eyelet from the shock shaft to replace the bump stop, they said they would do it, but I have to ship it to them, they fix it, then ship it back, I will probably pay 3 times the shipping cost versus the cost of the part, anybody know where I can get the tool to remove the shock eyelet, or borrow one for a couple hours?
Thanks, Ian

When was the last time you did an oil change on the shocks? It its been a while, why not have a local shop do an oil change and the bump stop at the same time. Just a thought.

Ian,
Changing the bump stops is the easiest thing you can do.
If you have a vise, you got it made. If not, I am sure at least one of your neighbors will have one.
You may have to heat the eyelet if someone used thread lock when they were assembled. But overall, it is something anyone can do.
I thought I saw your camping area at Gordons this weekend, I stopped by, but didn't see anyone around. I recognized your quad from a mile away.
Good Luck.

I think you have to get some kinda of spring compressor that compresses the spring so you can take off that part

I called up Alba, they said to call Works, the guys at works said they could do it no problem, they were actually going to do it under warranty, I just didnt want to send the shock to them, I am trying to go out in a week, and I didnt think they could get the shock back to me by then, but on the other side, my bro cant make it out, so I can ride his YFZ for the weekend, while I am waiting for my shock,
Sandpusher, I am glad to hear my quad stands out from the rest, if my quad is there, I am there, we had, my 5th wheel, WW 5th wheel, 2 WW 26' trailers, and 2 moho's, we were about 1/2 mile in from the vendors, hope to catch ya next time.

If you live near Escondido I can do it for you. I've done it many times.
You don't actual need a spring compressor unless the preload is set to max. The coils are not that hard to compress by hand. Once the coils are removed, the rest comes off easy.
Yeah, you guys had a pretty big group there.
Next time you head out there, let me know.

that was our biggest group, normally it is 4 sets of families, but the other 2 are just getting into going so 6 should be the norm, they only go at most once a month, I like to go twice a month, sometimes it is just our set up alone, I am thinking about going next weekend, 28th.. to buttercup, one of our camp group buddies is picking up his new 35' WW 5th wheel, this weekend so he is going next, I might join him, but am still not sure, I will keep you informed.
