Hi all!

QG has a couple of guns that were have been passed down her family, a couple of them from the late 1800's. We'd like to know what they are worth, and may possibly be interested in selling them to the right buyer. One of hem (I don't keep them at the house to get a pic) is very unique, I believe an early 4 shot Derringer! Is really cool, also a very nice, old Colt revolver with interchangeable barrels. icon_biggrin.gif

So if you have a reliable person in the Phoenix area we can take these to fo appraisal we'd appreciate it!

Thank you!

what part of town are you in? east or west valley?

Good start is with the gun blue book.

Also, check the guys at Bass Pro shops? Free to ask anyways - I think they do consignments.

We are in the East Valley, and I will check out the Gun BB after QG gets off work. The hard part about that is they "kinda" look like that one and another one situation, then how can you really tell what they are worth? Man we could shoot ourselves in the foot (pun intended) of mucho $$ of worth one way or the other if we are off on the model/year/etc...

Find a forum like this one, but about guns. Then post pics and all the info you have and see what you come up with.

In this economy, what they're worth, and what you can sell them for, are usually two very different things.

GUNBROKER.COM OR GUNSAMERICA...You can usually get more on gunbroker.com than on normal sites...I've seen some stuff go for unheard of prices on there. If you want to sell it is a good site.

Cabelas also has a gun library. Might check with them to see if they have a recommended appraiser.

contact the sponsors and/or moderators of this site. There is also a list of all the old west gun clubs in AZ on that site. That should easily get you in the right direction.

Just to show an of you gun buffs what we have, and anyone that wants to take a stab at a value, or can give us a name for a good appraiser here are a few pics!

Here is a description of them as well...it seems the S&W may be worth a few bucks, as the others du eto their condition!

Colt 38 revolver with serial #361xxxx that is an "Army Special" gun. It seems to me to be in excellent condition, no scratches, no fading of the metal at all and the grips are in perfect condition. The cylinder spins very well and the trigger action seems awesome as well.

I also have a C. Sharps 4 shot small gun, in pretty good condition. The barrel has some surface rust, but it dry fires fine. It is a bronze color with dark wood grips, and has serial # 21xx on the bottom of the handle.

The last one I have is a two part gun. It is a S&W 38 with an interchangeable .22 barrel. It too is in excellent condition, almost as good as the Colt. no nicks, scratches, fading of the metal on the 38 barrel, and th 22 as a little more wear but the grips are perfect. It has "38 S & W CTG" on one of the barrels and nothing on the side of the 22 barrel. On the top of both it says "PATD OCT 2 (I think) 1883 Aug 4 1885 April 9 1859". I can't figure out how to break it open to see a serial # so if you have suggestions that is great too!

I like that little pepperbox! I assume it doesn't say the caliber?
QueenGlamis
Well I wanted to bring this up again because the popularity of guns never goes away! I did get the S&W serial #s and both barrels have matching #s. I spoke to a gun guy awhile back and he said he had never seen one like it with matching #s, so it could be worth some bucks.

The pepperbox is a .22 as well. icon_biggrin.gif

Anyone know anywhere, I may go by the Brass Pole, er Bass Pro shop today to see if they have anyone that knows anything about them and value.

Any interest?

You could always take it to Pawn Stars. laughing.gif

Your last gun should open by pulling back on the very top rear of the siight rail (just above and forward of the hammer), just grip with the forefinger and thumb and "slingshot it to the rear". Tim
