im really interested in getting one, but my hauler opening is 5 inches too small, would it be possible to let the air out of the tires, or compress the suspension to shorten it 5 inches to fit in? or how hard is it to take off the stock cage?

If you notice, the Rzr rear tires are still on the ramp when the cage passes under the rear door header. I'm not guaranteeing that it will fit, but it's something to take into consideration when measuring whether or not it will fit.

you know....
I haven't payed much notice to a RZR cage, but you could replace the bolts with pins, like you have on a truck hitch. Drill a small hole at the end of a grade 8 (or a piece of metal of similar quality) bolt and put a clip through it.
Makes for a quick swap.

Oh, gotcha!
Another option would be to have a new cage made up that's not only stronger, but lower. The stock cage could use a little improvement in both departments.

i dont know much about them either, i was told you might have to access behind the seats wich would be a pain in the AZZ but i guess im gonna have to get my but to a dealer and figure some stuff out. i dont think it will be too hard, i think i could squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeze a few inches out of the suspension??? but i would rather be

than wrenching once i get to the dunes, but you gotta do what you gotta do!

yeah its kinda on the spaceship side of the design table, and im not very tall 5'10 so it is an option, but i am going from a 1915 beam car so i will be shelling out some $$ for this purchase and would rather invest in some tunes than a cage if possible but?? i dunno

Our regular Rzr BARELY clears the dual bunks in our trailer. I plan to do exactly what SoCal recommended and get rid of the stock cage and build something stronger and shorter. I suppose you could always ratchet strap up the suspension a little.

Another option is to buy a regular Rzr to save money and get the cage built. I've been told that dealer cost to uprade a regular Rzr to an "S" is only $1800 in parts. You could do that over the summer, and save money all the way around.

will definately look into this. thank you, we have been talking to some dealers in LA, and we are looking to buy approx 5 - 6 rzr s' and we are hoping to cut them down to about 13,000 otd, and at that cost im not sure i can pass one up!

Someone did the same for me before I bought mine and it isn't a problem at all, but I will share a

with you.

It might be easiest to just remove the shocks and make short "struts" from some tube to squat it the right amount. Not sure about the RZR, but on my Rhino I could have all the shocks off and replaced with a some type of tube in about 10 minutes with my battery power impact. Way cheaper than any other mods too.. Could just be for the time being too, buy a new cage next year.

Get rid of that stock cage. On the dash there is a disclaimer that says "this cage is not designed for a rollover". You will find most aftermarket cages are much lower and obviously made for a roll over. I'll be in the Compound next Thursday, if you'd like me to come over to you and see if mine will fit in your rig I would be happy to do that.

a few ratchet straps to compress the suspension should work

My RZR will hit the bed freestanding, but when I sit inside it gives me the clearance I need to get in the trailer.

My old toyhauler had the same problem, but the previous owner had solved the problem by removing the bed. When I bought the toyhauler, I put a drop down bed where the fixed bunk used to be. It cost me around $1200 or $1300 to put the bunk in, but I ordered the bed kit from the company that makes my toyhauler. Not sure of your fab skills, but you could probably put together a drop bunk for less than $300. The only downside is you have to open up the walls and put some extra wood in there for bracing/mounting the bed.

My trailer door opening measured out at four inches lower than the top of the stock RZR S cage, all I did was load a bunch of heavy stuff that normally goes in the trailer into the RZR (firewood, small generator, toolbox, etc), and with me and my wife in the RZR, it fit right in. Worked just fine all season.

Good idea SoCal... BUT, still way more expensive then my idea...
looks like a regular RZR, but small enough to fit anywhere. and more fuel efficent.
