Does anyone have one of those things that plugs into your hitch and goes over the tail gate to keep a rhino from bending the tailgate. There are other variations as well.

I need it for ONE time, so I'm certainly not going to purchase something that costs several hundred dollars, seems silly.

So does someone have one I can borrow? Or any "ghetto custom" ideas? laughing.gif

2 x 8
ANGELMONEY
3/4 plywood and strap the tailgate
Wild Earp
I did the 2x10 once. Worked pretty good. Also jacked up the back end and put the back half on Jacks (on the frame) and then strapped it down good so the weight was on the bed and no the tail gate. Sorta rinky, but worked.

While the tailgate on my Ram did support it by its self, I got little creases in the gate after the 2nd time, so I decided not to risk it again.
UTV Mayhem
thats what ive done too, put the back on bottle jack stands so its not on the tailgate at all.

Nosocks, If you still need one, let me know. I can part with it for a couple of days, I won't need it until the weekend after Easter. Mine fits an '07 F250, I don't know if it'll fit other rigs (different tailgate dimensions, receiver (hitch) height etc. Send a PM, I'll check later on today and tomorrow.
ONE-A-DAY
Ask to borrow a flatbed, probably find plenty. Or I used to rent 6 by 10 utility trailers for like $20 bucks a day.

I'll PM you with some dimensions and we'll see how far off we are. Where are you located?

I'm trying to avoid a trailer. Toyhauler needs to make its way back to the river, wanted to truck the rhino there and throw it into the toyhauler on my way out.

I was under the impression loading a rhino on ramps is what screwed up the tail gate, not it actually being in there dunno.gif

I was thinking about just doing the wood plank thing. Probably will be my plan B.

Usually the cables break. I started using tiedowns to double up the support, but I found really faint creases about 1/2" long on either side of the gate. If you didnt know what you were looking for, you wouldnt even notice them. Got rid of that truck though, and use a trailer now.

Just north 22 miles up 95/intake blvd.

I've never been able to get a grab on the gate on my dad's truck. I'd be using his Dmax if I do all of this. I'm thinking the lumber trick may work if anything...

They came through all the homes once checking registration...

My father told them all our stuff is registered and by the way they are on private property, a subtle eff off.

I've yet to see an officer otherwise.

Ive been chased by those Gayderss down 95. I was pinned on the highway back in my 2 wheeler days, guy saw me coming and tried to block the road... wrong move pal. Just wooded it passed him and kept it wide open (my bike GPS'ed at 98) from about water wheel to Aha, then ducked off into the desert. Saw him fly by on 95 about 2 min later icon_biggrin.gif laughing.gif
