have a 1985 bone stock 70, I removed the exhaust pipe restrictor and installed a clamp on air filter, with more air coming and going I should need to rejet yes? if so what would be a good place to start?

I good place to start is just were it was running before and go from there. Did you just punch out the swirly thing out of the exhaust or did you cut the inside off with a hacksaw? If it is running bad with the stock jetting and those modes go to a 38 pilot and a 60 main with the needle in the 4 groove from the top and the air scew 1 3/4 turns out that may get it closer.
