Why not a reverse gear from weddle for the 2D seems it would help,
not fix but help?

use my reverse all the time never had aproblem. all in how you let out the clutch. going on 3 years now and replaced clutch only 1 and that was because i had it tore apart for motor replacement. didnt need it but was apart already.i put it in and out of trailer all the time driving over fender wells .

The current reverse is from Weddle, and made out of the best gear material we can use.
my suggestions on reverse gear are:

1) adjust your shifter around reverse position. it has a longer throw then 1-4 gears

2) if you get stuck use the starter to pull you out.

3) buy a wench to move it in and out of the trailer

4) think of positioning when you park the car, and how you will get out of the parking spot when everyone parks around you.

5) make sure the reverse lock out is working properly.

6) slow down and stop the car from moving forward before jamming it in to reverse.

7) find the sweet spot on the clutch pedal that allows reverse to drop in.

8) dont race in reverse

9) dont let friends (inexperienced/ or buzzed) drive your car

10) remember it is the same gear VW used behind a 40hp motor -then think about the bill$$$$$$$$$
