Not necessarily, I mean, I don't know ya, so it's possible.

But what I meant was that I'd hope that we've all learned not to post coordinates or directions to secret spots in an open forum on the web such as this board. The less readily available the location is, there's a better chance of it only being visited be people who just want to go see and enjoy if. Not a truck full of kids with glass beer bottles and spray cans with nothing better to do that just got handed the directions to a "cool drinking spot" somewhere out in the desert.

Johnson Valley is one of, if not, the largest open area riding in the state..it hosts several ama races, desert off road races, and score races....the place is huge to say the least.....and the military is trying to take it away from us for their osprey training...they want to extend 29 palms into the area.....No way do I support this BS.....
from Corona it is about 90 miles....It is probably 35 miles from the 15 freeway at the Bear Valley Exit in Victorville....

Great place to ride for dirt. Not for the pretty polished sand worshippers out there. There are alot of rocks to chip some of those sand only machines. We usually camp at Means Dry Lake, at the end of Boone road. Jeepers heaven and a good time for anyone who enjoys exploring.

I've been stuck on Ocotillo for a while now. I really like it. I went to jv a while ago and to be honest I didnt like it and was bored. The crew I went with didnt know their way around obviously. I really want to know when the next trip is, I would enjoy the sights. The caves would be cool, but I am scared of the dark and clostrophobic. But I will go anyway just dont try to scare me and tell me the boogie man lives there or anything like that.......Seriously, when is the next trip.

I bought a buggy a couple years back and have only been out on duning trips to Glamis and Dumont. The sand is definatly some good times, but I would really like to do some desert riding also.
I'm in Corona Ca, which is 3.5-4 hours from the dunes and usually requires me to plan for a 3 day trip just to make it worth the 4 hour drive.
Johnson Valley is about 1.5 hours from my house which would make it ideal for a day trip. I figure I could hit the road with some buddies early morning, ride all day and be back home in time for dinner.
Now here's my dilemma. I have never been out to the desert and wouldn't know where to start.
i would be GREAT if anyone out there could provide me some direction.
Thanks in advance!!!!

The family will be out on Friday for the president's weekend and we want to go do a little exploring. Will you still be around? We wanted to see if we could go find a couple of the mines and some of the other cool places out there. This will be our first trip out to JV so it should be lots of fun!
