I have been selling and servicing tires since 1991. I don't know everything. But here's what I do know.
Stay away from Titan, Carlisle, Duro, Goodyear Marathons, and Michelins. Titan used to be good but went out of business (or sold) and now are junk. Carlisle and Duro are the cheapest things on the planet quality-wise, gauranteed to separate. The Goodyears (marathons) and the Michy's dry rot and crack well before most other brands. This may rub the Michy fans the wrong way, but I just gotta call it like I have seen it for years and years. I shake my heard every time I see a 3 year old Michelin cracked to death.
Maxxis tires are made in China. This may or may not matter to you. But in my 9 years of selling them I have yet to see a separation. And I sell hundreds of them. They seem to have a thicker sidewall than all the other brands I carry in thier respective sizes and load caps.
Denman tires are made in the US, China, and Mexico. Most of the trailer stuff is outta Mexico. They also have a great track record with me.
If you have a 16" tire option and want the absolute best tire go with the Goodyear G614's. These are 14ply rated tires. These suckers aren't cheap at nearly 3 bills each. But they handle some serious weight which I kow a lot of us are towing. I have actually found nails that have tried to puncture my own tires and they bent and stuck to the tire vs peircing the tread. They are strong.
Here's a free lesson. Everyone always asks me how to read the manufacture date. Here ya go. Look for this info. It can be on the front or the back of the tire. And if you don't find it then don't buy the tires.

ALWAYS go with the highest load rating whenever possible.
