i'm looking for a 24ft enclosed trailer and would like it "black" in color as it will match my brand new diesel pusher and i have been told by 2 trailer builders, not to do black as they can delaminate or that they will expand and flex from the heat and will loosen the pop rivets? anybody have a problem with a black trailer? i'm looking at interstate trailers super coach, carson racer, sport trailers, universal trailers as well as a few other brands. i'm leaning toward the interstate trailer and they use pop rivets on there siding.

Hallmark trailers offer black units. There are new units for sale in Santee pretty cheap at the moment. If I can sell my flat bed, I may purchase one.

I wonder if a vinyl wrap would be any less heat transfer than black paint? I'm not saying it would be, please check on it but I thought I would throw that out there. I wonder if there is some type of film they could use to cut down on heat, if that is a problem.

Friend of mine has a 48' gooseneck Haulmark trailer set up as their company safety trailer. They have it finished inside and have not had any issues with delamination or rivets. The trailer is 3 years old and we're in FL, it's not as hot as out there in Nevada or AZ but we have weather in the 95+ degree range daily in the summer and we also have the afternoon thunderstorms where a trailer might go from 120 or 140 degrees to 75 in a matter of 10 or 15 min.

Black vinyl, depending on the vinyl won't really solve the problem of heat. It will get hot as well, but will absorb some of that heat into the laminate.

Wrapping a trailer that size wouldn't be be a cheaper alternative to paint though if you're doing a single color. If you wanted to get crazy with the graphics, then it would be cheaper, but for a single color it's more expensive than a single color paint job on that size surface.
