Have any of you actually been ticketed because your youth did not meet the age requirement for the quad. If so what was the circumstance (age/size of quad)? Last time we were at Buttercup there was a kid who looked about 10-12yrs on a Raptor just tooling around, nothing dangerous. Please share with me. thanks

P.S. how old is your youth and what quad does he/she ride?

I have never, or never seen anyone get busted for riding a quad that is too big for the rider, its really not fair to the kids that can ride, a couple trips ago, this kid that I saw must have been no older than 10, was straight rippin up competition hill at buttercup on a banshee with drag pipes, he probably only weighed around 80lbs. so nobody could touch him, if they even had the cajones to try. he had probably been riding before he could walk, how fair would it have been to make him ride an 80? Parents should just do a better job watching and teaching their kids, and the government wouldnt have to act as parents and ruin it for everyone. Know what I mean?

i dont know if it is an actual law or just a sugestion of age for a typical rider.

i mean if you look at your owners manual of your bike it says not to ride wheelies but it isnt a law cuz if so all of us would be criminals icon_wink.gif . i think they are taking the average age and the average wieght and the average ability of a rider and saying that is the best size bike for that age.

cuz in reality some people that ride banshees need 90cc because they dont know how to control it and some kids can own banshees cuz they know how to control them.

also look at some of these pro racers. if a 250r dirtbike is for 16 and older why are the pros riding them at those young ages.

my son is gettin started off right. i want him to be that super fly beatin all the yuppies at the hill. i dont want the govt to hold my hand while i raise my son. he's my responsibility, i will be the one to teach him.

i remember a kid like that a few years ago smoking people out at test. like a flea on dogs back chasin the mailman.

I don't know about it being actual law either, but when I was at House of Motor cycles when I said I was looking at a 250 the sales guy said that if he thought it was for someone under 16 he would not sell to me and that I would be ticketed in the dunes. What do they care anyways as long as it states it on the bike they are not liable but I suppose some knucklehead could come back to them and say "I didn't know".

i dont have the website but check the BLM's website and see if it has any info of age requirements. i think its more of a disclaimer they have to put on a bike so like you said if some 13 or 14 y/o hurts themselves on a banshee or z400 they cant sue the makers of the company.
