hey guys, last night my A/C stopped working, It has been going pretty much non stop since Sat mid day. I am working in Indio and am staying in the trailer while I do a fire restoration job here. Anyways, I put the fan on low for the night, and when I work up this morning the fan motor didnt sound right, but it was still blowing very little cold air. I turned it on high, and the speed increased but only to about 50% of what it would normally be. Cold air is still barely coming out, so I am thinking it has something to do with the fan motor. When I switch it from low to high the speed does increase, but its not blowing anywhere near as much as it did yesterday.

Any thoughts? Like I said I am living in it for the next week, and its gonna be hell working in 100+ degree heat, then coming home to a 100+ degree trailer.

I am also in a rv park with full hookups, so I should be getting plenty of power to it.

Thanks in advance for any input.

WD 40 on the motor shaft.

stupid question. is that going to be accessable from the outside on top of the trailer or underneath?

All fixed!!!!! I turned the unit off this morning when I realized it wasnt working correctly, just turned it back on for a final check before I head out to work for the day. Its working much better now. I think running it on low all night froze up the vent. now its blowing full boogie and little bits of ice are coming from the vent. Thank God, now I can come back to a nice cool trailer after working in a stinky, hot, nasty burnt out apartment all day.

Thanks for the input guys, I appreciate it.

They ice up when they get to cold, They need a break every now and then, Also at night do not put it on the coldest setting.

last night I turned it to low since I didnt want freezing cold air blowing on me all night. still too hot to sleep without it, so maybe I will just turn up the thermostat a bit tonight, I found a 12V fan I hooked up in the bedroom so I have that to help stay cool, seems like when the a/c shuts off the bedroom jumps up 10 degrees within minutes. I will be here for another week working, so probably by the time I have the best set up it will be time to head home....lol

Use the thermostat to control the temp, run it on high, is is exceptionally humid with this front that is just leaving, could be icing up for sure. beer.gif

next time it freezes up turn the controls to fan only till it stops blowing cold air and it will be thawed and you can then turn it back to cool
