The syncros in the last 2 pics look a little chingered up. Is that just to show the hub placement for eack gear???

I am all ears and eyes, any way to get a list of what tools are needed? IE to install the mainshaft bearing, heat the case with a torch or press fit the bearing using a arbor press? (Talking out of my arse here, but you get the point)?
Nice work guys, this is the reason I take mine for servicing. I do have a question related to transmissions. I have a mid engine with a 2d. Shifting is about as bad as it gets with what I have, cable. What type shifter works best for the mid engine?

Mid engine cars are very temperamental. hard linkage is best, but chassis tend to flex and that distorts the signal. cable is good but with chassis flex and cable stretch it can be a nightmare as well. If I had the chance to build my mid-eng car I would use the AJ speed shift hydraulic unit. I feel this would be consistent in a mid-eng car and makes it shift sequential which is easier to drive when dicing it up in the dunes. the important thing is to take the time to learn the in's and out of your shifter and adjust it.several times.
