Drove it home in Jan. ordered it when I heard they were comming out with the V-twin 1000 cc motor and 10" of wheel travel. I have a sand car so I wanted it for trail riding.

Took it apart and started to work on a desent cage. The cage is .095 4130 all tubes are bent in one piece. Made each tube out of mild steel to get the bends perfect, then copied them in 4130. The corner braces are 1 inch .125 4130. The brackets are .250 in. cold roll. It also has a dome light bracket and a built in whip mount with light. The tail light is built in the cross bar. It is LED with brake light.

Finished the cage and installed the Beard seats with Crow 6 point belts. Bought the seats and mirrors at the CA sand show, while they were on good sale. Also bought the mirrors at the sand show before the Cat came in. Also had the front bumper chrome plated and pinstriped some of the decals and painted in some different ones. Also bolted the bed solid to the frame and added two extra tubes to support the roll bar.

Took it to Jeff Davis and had him do the top and windshield frame. Also had the roll bar and alum parts powder coated by Adam at Electro Tech powder coating while in Escondido.

Next is a stainless rear bumper with billet lighted lic. plate and two more tail lights. Picture is of it half done. Next after finishing the bumper will be some stainless leg minders then some trail riding. I have driven it around the streets and it is a blast. I am also going to do a dual pipe exhaust system. Also I cut out the winch mounts to get more air in the radiator. It runs at around 190 deg. on a 100 deg. air temp outside.

I have tons of pictures from my trip. I will start a new post about the trip. The Arctic Cat is amazing. Never had one once of trouble and it will go any place you want, and rides like a dream. One awsume machine. Someone was asking about gas milage so I did some tests. On real rough slow trails high hard climbs it got 10 MPG. On better trails it got 15 MPG. We were riding with a Rhino and when we filled up they both took the same abount of gas almost to the tenth.

Don that is a nice cat you got there! Couple questions for you... what did you use to cut out the winch plate? I tried to cut mine out with my grinder but I couldn't get a good angle on it. Also, I like the aluminum around the speedometer, where did you get that or did you cumtom make it?

To cut the winch plate I used a small air tool with a real thin cut off wheel. I use these cut off's a lot. The speedo billet piece is from www.utvcrap.com The rest of the billet stuff I made myself.

You can see it from very far away, when you see it coming you will know it is me. laughing.gif When you see it up close the green matches the pin striping.
