So I went outside this morning to put some water on the grass and almost stepped on this little guy...
Click to view attachmentClick to view attachmentClick to view attachmentClick to view attachmentHe was about 2' long and looked like he had eaten within the last day or so. He was laying aginst the house in the shade and I had walked right by him with bear feet none the less and he didn't start to rattel untill I got too close about 12" too close. To my supprise as I looked behind me and thought that would have sucked to have been bit by that little guy. Good thing he was old enough to have a few buttons to shake or I would have never known he was their. I put him in the plastic tub and drove him out where he belongs and let him go about his business.

Thanks man... I don't belive in the distruction of a creature that is trying to live. He just needs to live somewhere else besides my lawn

consitering where my lawn is I guess I don't blame him. This is a pic of whats just on the other side of the street.

I have seen a few in Redlands but not in the neighborhood I live in, Mentone aera out by the Orange groves and the Santa Anna river (Mentone Beach). BTW this snake is in Washington State, I'm still up here for a few more weeks then back to Cali. Should be the 3rd or 4th week in June.

I was pretty much born and raised in Mentone. There is nothing better than taking a dip out at Mentone Beach and beef jerky from the Greenspot Market.
And BTW, we live near the orange groves, border of Mentone/Redlands. Unfortunately, we are almost out of orange groves.

Didn't you say you were over in the Citrus Grove build? I know what you mean about the groves going extinct. I have one of the Buey groves across from my house I hope they never sell it.

University Groves. I hate the place. We so don't fit in

I would like to go back to Calimesa but duty calls and my mama needs me close. So I deal with all the yuppie neighbors and do my best to piss them off.

Not lately... This past winter we had quite a few mice but as soon as it got warmer they all disappeared. There have been a few Bull snakes and a Green racer or two which I don't mind them hanging around but I draw the line with Rattlers.

Sitting on my patio Thursday night and heard a loud sound i didn't recognize walked over and found one cornered by my dog. If they would stay out of the back yard there wouldn't be a problem but I have a 13 year old dog that is deaf and very slow moving .

Here is one more I found laying in the street in front of the house waiting to be run over actually his tail looks like it had already been hit. It's pretty chilly right now around 58* so Mr Rattle snake is real lethargic to say the least. He didn't want to move or rattel at all. I released him where I put the last two so hpefully he will be ok.
