Hi guys,

I know the pugs and puggles are popular, so here is your chance to get one and save his life... wub.gif

I bet he will not have any problems finding a good home.

What is the rear leg injury and what type of vet time are we talking about?

Sorry, here is all the Pound says:

A266547 – 1 year old – Neutered – Pug/Beagle
Medical: Dog is non-weight bearing on left rear leg. X-Rays show proliferative lesion on distal left femur (I think this means a injury to the femur ?) with some lysis of cortical bone(I think this means swelling around his eye from what my Google search found). Our vets suspect Osteosarcoma (I don't agree with this, as this is bone cancer that is usually found in LARGE and OLDER dogs, he is 1 year oul Pug ?) or Valley Fever (um, I don't really agree here either because VF causes caoughing, weight loss and a host of other things they did not mention? )
and recommend biopsy/bloodwork to confirm.
Behavior: Dog was originally a stray so not much is known, but has been very friendly here.

He has til tomorrow @ 5 before being put down...

Please let Kim or I know if anyone would like him to be a member of your home! wub.gif I can contact the rescue lady if someone is interested and go get him!

I asked about the VF and bone issues and this the reply I got:

As far as I know, from what the Humane Society told me is that he is not acting sick, but because of what the x-ray shows they named that as one of the possible causes. Valley fever is treatable, it is hard, but is treatable. My oldest dog survived valley fever as a young dog. I understand there is expense involved with this dog, but they are so cute and I would hate for them to be put down just because of something they might have. I appreciate any help you can provide

Thank you and keep me posted smile.gif

bump.gif Last day for this little one! To be honest, I would take the "diagnosis" from the Humane Society with a grain of salt. I have see great dogs that had "runny nose" or "aggression" or "undersocialized" be put to sleep. To be honest, there isn't enough time or money to house these dogs for long and sometimes they really grasp at straws to find a reason to put them on the E List. So if anyone is interested please let me know or Kim know!

Edited to say: All they have done to this dog is do a couple xrays to "diagnose" his issues. No blood testing, nada. So if you are thinking about him I can go to the Humane Society today and scope him out!

Thank you!
