I got my kids a ATC 70 about 2 months ago.... they have rode it everyday for the past couple months, then it stopped shifting to any gears higher than first.... it will go back and forth from 1st to nuetral but nothing any higher.... I tore down the clutch side of the engine and everything looks alittle worn but nothing broken or bent.... My dad (who used to be a Honda mechanic seems to believe its the ears worn on the gearshift arm but I'm not sure..... All the broken shift drum arms and stuff I've seen on here it has no problems like that... so should I replace all the moving parts on this side and give it a try or go deeper into the tranny??

Check this just in case...

There is a rod that runs from the shift lever to the other side of the engine. Follow the arm behind the clutch and the driven gear and it goes to a "drum stopper plate". The lever popped out of the groove on my stopper plate on my 70 a few rides ago because the kid was downshifting too hard. Put it back where it needed to go, replaced the gasket and was ready to roll.

That was in place, i think its just some worn parts like the linkage that moves the drum..... not sure what it is....
