FACTORY MODIFICATION CAMPAIGN (RECALL)

2001 through some 2004 YFM660RN, P, R, and S model ("660R Raptor") ATVs are under recall.

In affected ATVs, vibration from the engine and driveline during prolonged high rpm usage could cause the rear master cylinder reservoir to agitate, resulting in brake fluid aeration. If the rear brake is applied while the fluid is aerated, a small amount of air bubbles can enter the master cylinder, affecting rear brake performance. Reduced brake performance could create a risk of potential injury.

Technical Bulletin AT2004-002 is being mailed to Yamaha ATV dealers on 2/27/04 describing how to install a Brake Reservoir Damper Kit to prevent agitation.

Customers are being notified by mail.

Affected ATVs should not be operated until they are modified according to bulletin instructions.
