What are the best 6 volt batteries? I would like the sealed maintenance free style. Is a certain brand better than another?
I need 4. I am installing in my DP.
Thanks for your help.

I have been using the us2200s about 3 years old and still going strong.I usually pull alot out of them at glamis and use a big 40 amp charger to top them off at night. This is for when i do more than a weekend stay.
Run the inverter for tv and direct, then usually leave lights on at night as well as use the heater all night.I am only running 2 batteries.

Thanks guys... I have the Trojan T-105's that came with my coach 3 years ago. They worked fine but always seem to be "wet" on top and I always have to add water. I hate that. I think I am going to try the lifeline sealed batteries. Their not cheap, but if I don't have to mess with them its worth it!
Thank you!

Check all your measurements. My coach had the regular sized 6 volt version in there. I looked and thought there was no reason not to be able to use the larger version (GPL-6CT) as it was a little taller which would fit just fine, so I did. With 4 of those I can go for days (okay...not in our household but much further than I did before). The GPL-6CT are 99 pounds each while the GPL-4CT are 66 so make sure your battery tray can take the additional weight.

Thanks for that info. I can go taller with out any issues. My tray looks pretty strong but I want to remove my old batteries and look it over closer.
Thanks again,

Cory you will also need to make sure you change your computer charging thing. I have the Xantrex Prosine 3000 so i was able to increase the amp hours of the new batteries so everything charged fine.

Cool, I think I have the same inverter/charger. Is it easy to change? I'll have to dig out the owners manual.
Found a dealer in town, $275/ battery sound good?

I found out I have the Xantrex Freedom 458 series 30 - 3000 watts. Looks like i just have to push a few buttons and it will be switched over to the right type of batteries.
Thanks for the help. Is the price in line with what you found?
Thanks,

How do I find out if the converter is set up for the right batteries. We changed out the batteries in my in-law’s Monaco about a year ago to the Trojans and they worked well for about the first 6 months. Then they were cooked. Something cooked all the water out of them in these then a month. Now the batteries are junk. So before I put a new set in there how do I check and make sure the converter is set up for the correct batteries?
(Don’t ask, I don’t remember what brand or p/n the old batteries were. They were 6V, replaced 4 6V “Some brand” with 4 6V Trojan thought we should be fine.)

I think if had wet batteries and replaced them with wet's, you should be ok. Look on your inverter/charger it should have some led's and should be lit up on the wet led. on mine there is wet, gel1, gel2, and AGM.
My wet batteries "sweat" really bad and dry out fast just sitting. They may have just dried out. You should check wet batteries every month I was told.

I buy the Costco 6 volts batteries for mine. I just put my 2nd sent in after 2-1/2 years. Not bad for 60 bucks apiece. Yea, you should check you wet batteries at least once a month for water if it stays plugged in. If one goes bad, it will take the others with it.
