Got the pipe and rectifier, upped the main to 108 .
Iwant to put some paddles, for him , but im afraid it will rob the hp's
he is 12 about 70 lbs.
I got a 300 ex carb. im gonna put on it , i just wondered if anyone else has done this. The stk carb doesnt have an accelerator pump , the 300 ex carb does.
Im hopeing that will get rid of the flat spot off idle.
what do ya think ??

I think you will run right into the rev limiter, which cannot be modified and no one that I am aware of has a replacement for, and I've called more than a few people.
I've piped, jetted, & k&n'ed it, but the problem is it will hit the rev limiter pretty fast. I've done allot of checking and basicaly found there is not much you can do to get around this. It is what it is.
For more info do a search on www.exriders.com forum section.
I've put on paddles, then taken them off. Finaly moved my daughter to a 440ex and that seemed to have solved the hp problem....
Good luck,
tron.

I have done basically everything that Tron has done to his 250EX along with paddles and razors and the little machine is fast through the dunes with the right rider. If the rider is light then the 250EX will carry a rider just fine but as they gain weight then the quad is no longer able to carry them on the steeper hills. My son now rides my 400EX a lot because I drive my buggy a lot of the time but he still loves the little EX to go on a lot of the runs. I can say that it is pretty durable, trouble free and can really get through the dunes. The key is to have a rider 125lbs or less. My son can lead runs with his 250ex and most struggle to keep up. Yea, the banshees in the group can out drag the ex but he can stay in front of them most of the time on the longer runs. The 250EX is a great bike for what it was intended for...light riders. It is easy to drive and handles great. Thats my two cents now you make you own decision as to whether this is the quad for you. See you in the dunes. Jim

I should have the carb on by monday so I'll let you know how it works
I have to match the port on the new intake boot. And I think Ill clean up the
exhaust port as well. I wanted to wait another year and get the 400 ex for him.
But you know how that goes!!!
Your right about that rev limiter,as soon as i put the pipe on ,it was al over the rev limiter. I think I read it was at 9200 rpms.
thank you all, for the replys
