FRIENDS OF THE CALIFORNIA OFF-HIGHWAY MOTOR VEHICLE RECREATION PROGRAM

To: All politically active off-road Recreationists:

This is to announce the date for the 10th Annual Friends of the Off-Road Motor Vehicle Recreation Program annual lobbying day at the State Capitol and legislative reception.

This year’s event will be on Monday, March 22, 9:00am to 5:00pm with a reception at 5:30 that evening. With the new Schwarzenegger Administration in office, this should be an exciting time to come to Sacramento. For those who want to attend, a brief lobbying course will be from 4:00-6:00pm, Sunday, March 21st at the Holiday Inn (300 J Street).

This daylong program, includes a continental breakfast, legislative and Schwarzenegger Administration guest speakers, lunch with guest speakers, visits to legislator’s offices, and will end with a legislative & administration reception at the historic Sacramento Sutter Club.

We will endeavor to provide lunch for free to the participants, but it will depend on the amount of sponsors that we are able to attract from off road organizations.
This event is sponsored by “The Friends of the California Off-Road Motor Vehicle Recreation Program” and the invitations to legislators will reflect this.

Lastly, we need you to register so we can make the appropriate arrangements. This can be done by logging on to the California League of Off Road Voters web-site, www.clorv.org and filling out the on-line registration form or calling (916) 447-1761.

If you have any questions, you may contact also Dave Oakleaf, CLORV President @ (562) 423-1889 or Michelle Cassella, CLORV Executive Director @ 909-940-1070

We want to make this the largest off road lobbying day yet so please pass this along to anyone you know who may be interested in attending.

IT IS TIME TO REGISTER!

March 22 (Monday) is fast approaching and it is time to register for the 10th Annual Friends of the Off-Road Motor Vehicle Recreation Program yearly lobbying day at the State Capitol. There will also be a legislative reception at the historic Sutter Club where off-road enthusiasts will be able to meet, greet, and mingle with legislators, staffers, and OHV organizations from all over California.

Please register as soon as possible because we have to organize the catering, conference room, and lobbying activities based on the number of attendees. Attached to this e-mail is a copy of a previous letter concerning this event which was sent out earlier this year. It contains useful information regarding the event, lodging, and a lobbying training course on Sunday evening.

To register: log on to- www.clorv.org and complete the online registration form or call (916) 447-1761

Please pass these notices along to your organizations or anyone who you think would be interested in attending. It is very important that the OHV Community makes itself physically known to the Legislature. When politicians see people from their districts, they see voters, and votes are a politician’s life’s-blood. Off-road enthusiasts are an endangered species who enjoy no federal protection!
