Good Morning GD.com,

Please join me in a New Campaign for Slappy slap.jpg....This is something for all Members to take part of.

We all spend a significant amount of time on GD.com, most on a regular basis and a large portion of that is for the pure entertainment this board provides. Another part of it is the Education we all receive as well as the collective development of a communal identity as "Glamis Duners".

Well everyone has a niche or something that comes right from their heart, and what I suggested to Slappy awhile back is this New Campaign. It is a mentality we all already share, but currently do not have a specified location where we can focus and gather our thoughts and efforts. I feel your hearts and spirit is allot like my own and I would enjoy any input, time or effort you could give on this...

Dawn of a New Dune

A New Sub-section or Threads located in Slap's Neighborhood - committed to the future Advocates of our beloved sport. The Children.
(Now this would not be a place for kids to post...we have "Young Guns" already)

This Section would be for Kid-related topics like:

* Youth Events, Gatherings and Rides
* Youth Certifications, Requirements & Class Scheduling
* Youth Racing / Track Information
* Local Riding area information with focus on Youth Amenities (Kiddy Tracks and such)
* Best Set-ups, Tricked-out Rides and Tech Info on Youth OHV's

I feel that we have many proud parents that would love an area that is specific to the kids.

If we put the proper ideas forward and execute them efficiently....then we lay fertile ground for tomorrow's responsible OHV'ers.

I'd love to sit back one day as an old-timer watching our grown children taking the reigns of protecting Mother G.

What better way to ensure that by making their childhood memories of Glamis - The BEST EVER!

Future Events currently in the works:

* Glamis On-Site Youth ATV Training/Certification
* Glamis Over-night Camp-out in the Dunes (Trek out into Mother G, away from MH's, TH's and civilization)

Keep in mind YOU have as much input into this as anyone else, this is a 100% collective effort for the kids.
Members without Children are just as welcome to participate.

Please feel free to use this post for Dawn of a New Dune to help build something wonderful

Thank you,

Crusty for President 2012...

This is great Crusty... very glad you joined the team. I look forward to these events and future threads in this section. Frank has a killer thread going about this same topic... the kids are our future, lets give them memories they can cherish forever while we still can.

What a great idea to teach our kids what G is all about....
TheWrenchWench
Well our kiddo is almost an adult. What did you have in mind? Is this geared for the younger set?
Desert Iguana
Very nice, please make sure they treat us natives properly while enjoying our backyard.

Just a thought, but when we do the trash clean-ups, maybe we can do some separate prizes just for the young duners. Incentives will help them learn how important it is to clean up after not only ourselves, but the others that use Glamis for their enjoyment as well. I know we are working hard on teaching it to Hurly, and he loves to get the raffle tickets when he turns in his trash. LOL. Also, what about a slappy shirt that is designed just for this purpose....Dawn of a New Dune shirts for the kids. Proceeds to go to Adopt-A-Wash, or the youth ATV certification program, maybe?

Excellent Idea WG!

We have something gossip.gif right along those very lines in the works right now in fact . . . . . . slap.jpg

And People!

Dawn of a New Dune is a Community effort, lets get all ideas out there and make something great.

Right now we have:

* ATV Certifications - In Progress
* CPR Classes - In Planning
* Clean-Up Participation Recognition - Just now added

All Dawn of the New Dune "Goodies" will be earned by participation in the above.

What are the "goodies"?

This is an excellent idea, I always try to teach my son but I think that hearing things from other adults or having activities to help teach will be more fun than hearing just from "The Parents".

Are you going to try to plan activities in the South Dunes on occasion too?
Crusty
I don't do the South Dunes.

But there is NO REASON why the South Dunes could not participate.

These efforts are open to ALL and a little coordination will ensure fun for all.

I understand if you don't do the South Dunes but maybe some of the instructors would be interested. My feeling is that whatever happens in the South affects the North, Vice Versa. I like the South, there is alot of kids and family's.

All these ideas are great...99% of what I do in my life , I do for my son. So more family/child events are right up my alley. Lets teach the kids right and keep them involved!
