Looks like a buggyworks. not sure though. Be careful there is no bar in the middle between the seats. Looks a little like a budget build.

The rear shocks being straight up and down are not a good sign either. They don't tend to work well when mounted like that IMO

Alot of older cars didnt come with B pillars, I can think of a few big name builders that there 1st gen cars didnt have them. The rear suspension does look like it would be wrong at full bump though.

I understand, at least partially, the science here. But does this Racer have much more rake in the rear shocks than this car?

No one is trying to attack anyone. there are TONS of combined years of knowledge and been there done that on here. Hey I am no expert but I can look beyond the nice paint job and see the B pillar is a HUGE safety issue that would have to be added before I or anyone of my family members rode in there. The rear shock set up is not great and I am sure that there can be some cutting, welding, bracing added and re-power coated would be a better car. So just be aware that this car is not getting attacked, but atlas ask for opinions and he is getting them.

He lived right down the street from me; a bit arrogant. Only one I'd seen run was his personal car (I'm sure he's had a few) down in El Gulfo; they liked to do wheelies all over the place. Saw him shoot the hill a few times, didnt get through the bumps real well.
If the trade is an expendable item I guess it doesnt really matter. Be fun no matter what.

Typically if a shock is mounted strait up and down the shock body will change directions (front to rear) during the stroke. That is a VERY big no-no when setting up suspension components.
Another thing to look at is to get a 90 degree angle at full compression (shock body; to the lower heim on shock, to the front of the trailing arm pivot. You can easily get this in a two seater as the upper shock mounts can be moved forward; not so simple in a 4 seat car but try to get as close as you can. This sounds easy but when you are trying to get ground clearance and all the other dynamics (90 degrees, CV angles, no shock body change in direction, ground clearance), it is extremely hard to do. But of course it can be done

They're not mounted straight up and down, it looks like they will prob. be at the desired 90 degree angle at full compression.....
