I sealed the deal today with Grant. New Gen 5 Big 5, LS2, S4. It is going to be Gun Metal Silver, with Red, Black and White Graphics. Car to Car, Billet Upper Arms, most of all the goodies, No LED light bar, maybe some LED lights on the front though.
I want to thank Grant in being patient in all of this, we started the process June 12th. He has not blown me off at all with my questions concerns and in coming up with the funds. Banks are not financing anything on Sand Cars, not even 15k worth of it. So I had to come up with the cash. He was patiant with my on again off again approach as my cash ebbed and flowed.
Cash is in hand now and off we go.
Supposed to be done by Thanksgiving. We cannot make the regatta, due to being involved big time in Club Soccer.

I also want to add Grant would not drop his price much................ No matter how hard I tried. He has to keep his price where it is at to make money of course.
But most of all so he does not undercut previous customers looking to sell their cars. I respect that, and at the end of the day, that was a big factor in the Funco purchase. As some of the builders are undercutting former customers big time to keep their doors open.

Very cool. You will appreciate it even more that Grant holds his line on prices when it comes time to sell car. While resale value on any sandcar is awful, Funco's are close to the top.

CONGRATS!!!!!
FYI, Funco owners and SCU owners are all chipping in to buy TNTDUNER a nice Joyner or a trx 250ex to get around Glamis.....you will notice SCU prices are up a bit since Walt sold his while the funco prices have dropped because WALT OWNS ONE AGAIN!!!!
Grant is trying feverishly to get Wailt out of his funco and having no luck!!

Anyway,...just an FYI...I say you bought at the perfect time because while Walt owns a Funco,...prices are good for the rest of us!!!

CONGRATS!!!!!

I also want to thank, TNT Duner and Bohica for answering my PM's on there cars. Bohica is going to save me some money by not going with a light bar and HID's instead on the front, or LED Headlights, if Grant can make it work.
And of course to the camp Funco crew of Bobby, James and Jeff - my chauffer.

I would reconsider the light bar. They suck for lighting up the night, but do a great job of keeping your roof from being scratched when you flip.
Have Funco weld the tab mounts for the light bar to your roof frame. You wont even notice they are there but if you or the next owner wants a light bar some day its a simple bolt up and your powder coat wont be messed up from welding in the tabs for it.
And regarding Poule43's comments, just keep in mind that he is compensating for something.

He is going to weld on the tab's for future LED Light bar.
LED light bar and 4 HID's up front should be really bright.

Hey Chris, glad to hear that you FINALLY pulled the trigger

I still think I have you beat with the "driving Grant insane" statement. I think it took me just about 2 years to finalize my deal. Seeing Bohica's Gen V helped make the decision

Now the hard part comes

Congrats on the new car and for keeping the Funco people working. As for Grant not coming down on his price much, I know
the cost to build these cars has increased some. The quantity discounts that builders receive on all the components that make
a car are less now than in years past.
Enjoy your new ride!

Congrats on the new car! I've been bugging Grant, Gil, and Greg since about 2003 with all of my stupid questions, and they keep patiently answering them, so you have a long way to go to climb up the "dumb questions ladder"..

You've not only bought a great car, but you've joined a great big family of funco owners. You can always tell who they are, even if they aren't in the car..they are the ones with the big ol s**t eating grin on their faces...

I hope you have many happy years with your new toy!!
