Was unloading the toyhauler in the shop when I had my my daughter turn it on make shure that it was in neutral. Next thing I see smoke filling up the front of the trailer, tell her too get out and then get a fire extinguisher. Get the extinguisher shoot it under the gas tank, but it's still smoking, I then think it's electrical so pull the key. Smell is awful but no real burn marks. So let it cool down then roll the quad into the shop, pull key ignition off of bars no shorted wires and then follow leads to where the coil is under the tank. Thats where I see what looked like the coil had been dripping molten plastic or expoxy that they use to encase it in. Any body have a clue what could have caused this on a Yamaha blaster.

Could the battery leads be reversed? Neg. on pos. and visa versa.

Weird....couldn't have been a polarity issue, blasters don't have battery's.

he must have ment Raptor because you dont have a battery on a blaster and no electrical power unless its running ! and that is wierd it must have been a internal short in the coil ?

Okay took it apart unpluged the CDI and the rectifier (I think that is what it is called) and the coil is still getting 12 volts from somewhere. I also just burned up I brand new coil. I'm thinking that somehow a hot wire has crossed to coil 12 Volt wire. Because the minute I torn the key on the coil starts to heat up. Anybody have a clue. Could it it be in the start/on/off switch shorting out?
