Ok, so I have absolutely no artist skill or the creativity to do my own, but I do have ideas of what I want. This will be a half sleeve from my elbow to my shoulder. Only black and gray, NO COLOR. I like the trendy evil skulls, mixed with a bunch of chaos. I was also thinking of some sort of evil pinup girl of some sort. Or a pinup girl with a grim reaper twist to it. I have searched lots of pics, but want to keep it somewhat original. Here is a few ideas of what I like, but just add a twist to what I have mentioned. Anybody up for the challenge??? Thanks.
The 2nd pic would be cool in black with gray shading- no color

If I can give some advise, I would find a tattoo artist you are comfortable with and like the artwork of and give the basic idea to them. The artist will be able to come up with an idea and work it to their style and your body better than any person with artistic ability. I have found that giving my ideas to my artist and letting him run with it has worked a lot better than bringing in someone's else's work to have them copy. This way it will be completely original and designed for you. I have two half sleeves and my entire back is done. You have some good ideas, and sometimes it works out many times better to just let your tattoo artist flow with their own concepts based on your ideas.

What you need to do is find an artist who's style you like and let them design it for you based on what you want. I have over 25 hours of work on me and if you find a competent artist whos style you like, you need to let him do his thing. If you give the artist the freedom, you'll come out with a way better tattoo than you could imagine. This is exactly what I did. I had a vague idea of what I wanted and my artist came back with a drawing that blew my mind.
He is the artist, it's what he gets paid for. Let him do his thing.

I agree with both of you, but from a starting point, I was looking to get somewhat of a rough sketch based off of my ideas, then let the tattoo artist do his thing from there. I have ink now, nothing creative, so I understand, but wanted to put something on paper and say, "I want something along the lines of this". Am I on the wrong path?

Don't have any creative drawings I can give you, I highly recommend to do what the other guys mention above. Definitely get some ideas on paper then give it to the artist and let him show you what he got!
I'm having my back done right now..just gave my artist a picture and he went off!! If he knows what hes doing and hes a confident artist, he should be happy to help you out
I like the the look your wanting to do.. here's what I'm doing..tell me whatcha think
GOOD LUCK

You don't need to have a rough sketch. Surf the web and find pics of skulls and all that other stuff you said, print them out...take it into him and once your deposit is paid he'll go to town. It'll most likely take a couple trips to him to get placement of items and such. Trust us, this is how it's done when you get custom work.
