I'm thinking about building a baja bug, and would like to do something with a bit of power

It will be an A-arm full chassis and I'd like to put a 5.3 vortec in it for a nice amount of power. Which transmission would be able to handle about 320 HP? I'm not a baller, so a fortin isn't in my price range (even though I'd love it).

Depending on FAT this car will get you can run a bus or "E" box.
Where will the car see most of its running time?
