The Online Test does NOT get you Certified.

You have to attend a Class.

You can go to Ride atv oregon and take the online test and it does certify you and they send you a card for your wallet and you can print a temp to take with you to the dunes while you wait. The oregon cert is legal to comply with Ca regs

My daughter is 5 and only rides in camp, with all the propper safety gear of course. What do I need to be legal?

Thanks guys!

This looks like a no go. CA has to have a CA instructor. OR will recognize your home states certification.

From other certification thread. If you live in CA you need a CA instructor to teach the coarse.
2. How can I get an ATV Safety Certificate?
Any student who completes or participates as an "Observer" (see #6 below) in an ATV RiderCourse, taught by a California licensed Instructor will be eligible to receive an ATV Safety Certificate. Only students 17 years of age and under will be issued certificates automatically. All others must request them by calling ASI Client Services at (800) 776-7620. (*Special conditions apply.)

From OR, they will recognize the certificate from your home state.
If you are from another state or country and wish to ride an ATV or off-road motorcycle in Oregon you can comply with mandatory safety education requirements by doing any of the following:

1. Completing the Oregon Online Safety Education Course and carrying an Oregon ATV Safety Education Card on your person when riding on lands open for public use.
2. Completing an ATV Safety Education Course in your home state or country and carrying proof of completion on your person when riding on lands open for public use.

Your daughter or the supervising adult will need to have a safety certificate. I'm not sure that a 5 year old can t ake the course. Two weeks ago I took the course and my 6 year old sat there and watched as an observer. This get BOTH of us a certificate. Although his will state that he was an observer, it still makes him 100% legal as though he was riding in the class.

I think Kazuaki is correct as they enforce the age requirements on the machines (6 and up on a 50cc). I have heard of 5'2" 11 y/o's taking the class on a 90 so I think a 5 year old is inelligible. Best bet is for you to get the cert and make sure to always supervise your little one, which I'm sure you already do anyway.
