About a 2 months ago I bought a 2006 SLC 3505 Warrior. The price was right even though the front cap had a dent in the upper right corner. (Billet edition and fully optioned out) I figured for what I paid for the trailer I would bite the bullet and get it fixed. I called Warrior Lifestyles and talked to Jim the service manager. I was first discussing just replacing the flat piece of "filon" that covers the front of the trailer. Well during my conversation I asked Jim if a moulded fiberglass front cap from a 2007 and newer trailer would fit. He wasnt sure but was also interested in finding out. I liked the looks much better. Well, I can never leave anything alone so if your gonna do something you might as well do it right. Me and Jim worked out the specifics and I took the trailer to him to see if we could install one. As I found out, The 2006 and older Warrior 5th wheels have a issue with water intrusion where the roof meets the front cap. I figured this was why mine was rippled at the top. After inspecting the roof, I found out I was right. My sealant had formed a small crack and was allowing water to get under the cap.

Today Lifestyles pulled the front off of my trailer off and started the work. As it works out, the later model front cap will fit and older trailer. After the original glass came off we discovered what I suspected. There was a small amount of wood rot. Not too bad. So at this point my trailer is getting a new front cap, wood bracing being replaced and doing a full roof sealing. I will keep everyone posted as to the progress...

BTW: Jim and the crew at Warrior Lifestyles have been more than helpfull with my trailer. Even before I brought it in for repairs, Jim was anwsering questions for me over the phone. Very helpfull. He set me up with a delivery date and at this point is right on track. thumb.gif

This is how the trailer looked when I bought it.

Nice!

They have gotten a bit more work done yesterday. Looks like things are coming along nicely. All the rotted wood and insulation has been replaced. The large carpeted pad in the middle is now added. This is the center support for the new glass cap to stop it from bowing inward while driving. Looks like they might be putting the cap on today! Then just getting the roof fully resealed and I am back in business just in time for Thanksgiving. Jims guys are working extra hard to get my trailer done so I can enjoy my trip.

I have a 2005 SLC 3905 with the same type of pushed-in dent on my 5th wheel, which develop 6 months ago. Wondering what the cost would be to install a newer front cap? Keep us posted.

Curious to about the ladder. Can't wait to see pics of the finished job...... carrot.gif

DIRTCREW3
Sorry guys, been busy last couple of days...I have the trailer back now and will post the pics as soon a I get time to pull them from the camera. The trailer looks great! Much better looking and now I know the front of the trailer is structurally sound.

lincster - Later on, I will take the trailer back to Lifestyles and have them install a rear ladder. Due to T-Day coming up, I didnt want to push my luck on not having the trailer back with enought time to get it ready for my trip.

Bravozulu - Jim at Lifestyles worked with me on the cost because this was the first one they did. I told him I would keep that between me and him. Give them a call at (951) 490-4968 Talk ti Jim Goodwin. Tell him you saw this on GD and Robert referred you. They do have several caps in stock. Let me tell you, It makes a major difference in looks for our older trailers. I really like mine now that it is done.

Racer61 - Sent you a pm

250rah - I was just about to PM you Archie. Im gonna be out there from the 22nd thru the 30th. Gonna stay in the Compound. Ill send you my # and maybe we could take a ride on Sunday morning before you guys leave.

Ok guys, I picked up my trailer yesterday afternoon. Jim and the guys did an exceptional job. This thing looks like it came this way off the assembly like.
Very clean install. I am very perticular about my stuff or letting anyone repair it. I took a chance and let Lifestyles take on this project and I gotta say, It came out GREAT! I am very pleased with the outcome. If anyone is interested in getting their roof sealed/inspected or anything else take it from me, Give them a call.
And for all you Warrior guys out there, INSPECT YOUR ROOFS!!. I purchased this trailer used and had to deal with it. Mine wasnt very bad, but it doesn take much water inside of your walls to cause unseen damage.
Finding a good solid company to work on your stuff is hard to find. If I ever have any repairs that I just dont want to do myself, I am a Lifestyles customer from now on.

Here are the finished pics of my trailer.....I will be out in G for the week of Thanksgiving staying in the Compound. If anyone is interested in looking at the trailer first hand just come on by and have a drink and check it out.

Your 5th wheel took a serious front cap makeover. It's beautiful! Plan to call Jim Goodwin at Lifestyles next week. I will also be at G during the Thanksgiving break at wash 6 or 13. Would like to checkout your new front cap and the workmanship of Lifestyles installation.

Glad to hear you are happy. I've been considering giving them a call. got an issue that WW could never fix correctly & was hoping they might.

Gonna wait till the end of the season I think.

But great post.
DIRTCREW3
Thanks for the props guys! I am real happy. I originally wanted a 2007 Warrior mainly because I liked the looks of the fiberglass front cap. This trailer was such a good deal that I could not pass it up. Best of all, it is solid, optioned, updated, and most of all paid for! Next step is the rear ladder and on-board compressor system.

The trailer never had them. Before the work was done, there was a ladder right in the middle of the trailer. As far as needing them, Thats a good question. I have no idea.

BTW: Ladder is now for sale if anyone is interested...
DIRTCREW3
Just an update - I have made two trips out with trailer since the install and everything is good. The only issue I noticed is that I have to watch the cab a little more due to the cap sticks out further that the flat cap did. Other than that - No Issues.
Randog
Congrats Robert.
Your WW looks sweet. beer.gif

Comforting to know they are good.
I just dropped my 07' Rage'n off there last Sunday for Chassis reinforcing.
Jim's knowledge and confidence is awesome.
He really sounds like he knows his stuff.

Hope my job goes as good as yours.

Thanks Randog!

Just to update everyone, I now have had my first trip with new cap and so far everything looks good. No moulding separating or anything coming loose. If anyone is considering this, mine was the first one Warrior Lifestyles has done and at this point everything is good. This is an easy way to update the looks and hopefully value of your trailer.

Nope, insurance does not cover this kind of damage (ask me how I know). It is a "maintenance" issue that is not covered. Supposed to replace the caulk sealant at the roof joints every six months according to the insurance guy I was working with.

just picked up my trailer and it turned out awesome jim and the crew at warrior lifestyles did a killer job i am more then stoked with my trailer will post pics later today.

Seeing that third pic is very mind numbing, I've noticed a mold smell in my trailer and can't find any wet spots.

Man this could suck, thanks for sharing

The old Pres of WW directed me to Jim Goodwin and Iam glad he did. My trailer was hit parked in front of my house and had some body damage and a lil structure damage in the lower nose where propane tanks sit. Long story short it was updated inside and out and iam very happy with JIM. I would drop my trailer off with him and not have anything to worry about, I shared with him what I needed and that was it. Came back a month later and paid. All work was perfect and he even stored my 5 th wheel for a week since I was busy getting in a few last river trips! The only issue I had was not with Jim but with the comapny and not getting messages to Jim when I left them after hours in there company mail box . Thanks again Jim.....

My 2006 LE 3505 is at Warrior Lifestyles right now getting some repairs done after the person who parks their RV beside mine in Storage decided to hit is and knock it off the jacks. They're putting the new Fiberglass Front Cap on mine and installing a ladder back on the drivers side like the newer trailers. Should be sweet when it's done. Jim is a great guy so if you need anything...and I mean anything for your trailer you should give himn a call up there at Warrior Lifestyles.
MQUnlimited
FYI guys, Jim is longer working for WL. He is now opening up a shop in Lake Elsinore called So Cal RV Doctor. WL is moving to Corona and is concentrating in just building trailers.
easyrider470
When did that happen. I have been emailing with Jim since September, my trailer is sitting at Warrior Lifestyles right now waiting to finish up the work on the fron cap and rear ladder.....
Warrior Lifestyles is about to open that new shop but that was a while off from what I heard when Jim and I talked about it in September. Interesting that the timeline has moved up? I spoke with Jim last week actually on the 22nd and he is still the service manager at Warrior Lifestyles...i think your info might be wrong there MQUnlimited.

He did say they were just finishing up the current work they have before they begin moving.

Hey guys, I know Jim is not at WL but I had a roof job and some frame reinforcing done at WL. I dealt with Larry Broyles (SP?). Anyway this was just before T-giving. I had the tounge reinforced and it was done inside the tongue channel so there is no tubing welded to the bottom of the frame. This greatly stiffened the tongue. Before the tongue flexed almost 1-1/2" with a load on it. This flex caused the box to flex and sealant to separate. I never got more that 1 road trip after sealing the nose cap. He also added more frame bracing to prevent side wall sag even though I didn't have any sagging. 8 were added and they are way thicker than what came on the trailer. The entire roof was replaced along with all rot and additional bracing where structure was rotted. The trailer is noticibly stiffer even just sitting on the tounge and bal jacks. It actually tows smoother, I could feel that the tongue was flexing before. This was all done to my 23' SL. So, I am very pleased with the work they did. From what I can see the WL trailers are all built completely different than the WW trailers. All the things that caused isues with WW were avoided in the WL trailer. When I had my work done they were not building trailers because sales were so poor so he was doing lots of repair and upgrade work. As to pricing? I feel like I got a good deal and your fix will be different so the price will be different. If you have a SL, I would highly recommend the tongue bracing they do and I confidently endorse the work they do there.
