So The final round of WORCS was held in Mesquite Nevada/Arizona this past weekend. I was pumped because Mesquite is SAND!!!!! lots of it too. Got there friday around noon and just took care of buisness and what not. Saw a couple people crash pretty good. Saturday morning rolls around and I feel great! I had been sick all week prior. So that was a relief! I did the unclassified race seeing the track and it was fast! Alot of guys had trouble out in the sand. I had trouble with one jump. It was a 4th gear table top 100ft and I just could get the balls to do it. for some odd reason just didnt have it in me to attempt it.
Off to Production A. Last round I got my first podium with a 3rd. I felt I could repeat that too. I thought I got off to a bad start until the first turn when a good portion of the feild wrecked and I pulled Jimmy Johnson and didn't get collected! I found myself in 5th! I made a pass into 4th. I would battle a lap with the same guy since I didnt do the jump and he did. but I'd be right back on his tail there was a road jump I was hitting in 5th WOT and would gain about 10 bike lengths between other riders slowing down and the fact I was flyin about 40 feet. I would make the pass and pull a lead on him though the sand section. I could see 3rd and would get on his tall again at that road jump. I almost flew backwards with the nose being so high and couldn't hit the rear brake to bring the front end down. I was on 3rd place's rear grab bar avoiding hitting twice but he messed up in a tight corner and I couldnt stop in time punting him off his quad. I pushed mine back and went around. I pulled a gap on him obviously and could see second about 15 seconds ahead. as I passed through for the final lap, with less then 3 minutes to go and another podium in site, I put on a hard charge. I hit that road jump again and disaster struck! SNAP! broke my axle clean off at the sprocket!! Luckliy I rode it through and didnt wreck. but by being so far ahead and getting 5 laps in before time had expired, I placed 10th and qualified for pro am!
We got the axle replaced and re preped my quad for sunday.
Sunday I got 2nd to last gate pick because of my points in pro am.as the gate dropped I found myself in 10th out of 17. I was right on 9th place about to make a pass in the sand section when his rear end swiped across me and almost took me out! I backed off. Once we reached the MX section I heard a horrible noise from my quad. I thought It was a loose head pipe. I rode it through the WORCS Cross section. Hit a table top jump and gassed it for the step up when the motor locked up in air! I got lucky and road a small nose wheelie to a stop. a Bolt had stripped out vibrated out in the oil filter housing and shot out all the oil. I pretty much grenaded a motor. I had to settle for a DNF. Not only is my motor shot, but also when I snapped the axle, it bent my nerf bar with such force if forced out the welded bungs for the left foot peg. My frame is shot. (more cracks, and faults other places) so is my engine. I need a new quad. I don't have the funds. No duning for me yet another season. or more. This is the end of my racing for while. icon_cry.gif Its truly a bummer knowing I now finally get it all together and in contention to podium and disaster strikes! I think when you get that feeling to not do something like jump that jump, it's usually best to listen to your subconscious. Better the axle and the engine than your leg or spine. That sucks the quad is toast brother, wish I could spirit you up a new 09.

man you were doing so good!! hang in there and hopefully next season you can be set up with all the parts you need and take out everyone.

sucks when you learn the hard way. but then you learn the most that way i think.
