Anyone have one? How do you like it? Have you used it in G?
QueenGlamis
Cool phone for sure, but it is very heavy! like at least 2 times what my Blackberry weighs. However, very fast, responsive, the actual keyboard is NICE, and the Google Night Sky app is totally awesome! Say you are at Mother G, enjoying so Ice Cold Delicious Beverages, and you want to find out what stars, planets etc are in the night sky. You turn the app on, hold the phone to the sky and SHAZAM they all appear on the screen whereever you are pointing it! WAY COOL! It knows the day, time and GPS location you are at so there is no "programming" etc. iPhone doesn't have a an app for that! laughing.gif
Fireman
I want one so bad but no $$$$$

I just got mine about 2 hours ago and watching glamis videos from utube on it now like I was watching tv. No lag at all.
El Pepperoni
Roxy and I exchanged our HTC Touch Pro (windows based) cells for the Samsung Moments. They are the best phones we have had to far. Apps, TV, internet is fast and reliable.

I just picked mine up on Saturday. I love it compared to my Voyager. This phone actually has a flash unlike my other not to mention a 5 megapixel camera. My wife has the Blackberry and she would love to switch to my Droid. I am not much for facebook, but my wife loves how it is on mine compared to hers. You see everything alot better. I love how the IM is. It keeps whatever conversation your having within one screen. No having to go to Inbox then Send then Inbox. Shows your whole conversation on just the one screen. One thing I have tried and doesnt seem to work is I tried to go to GD.com. For some reason that wont work. Maybe someone here can say why. It shows the first page but when you go to skip intro it shows notta. My wife heard someone talking in Verizon the day I got mine about he was wanting to wait till Dec as supposedly it was going to have some kind of cool google feature that the ones now dont have. Dont know about that.

Most phones have issues with the Flash page. Try going past it to www.glamisdunes.com/invision

Google Voice is most likely what they were talking about. The Droid is supposed to get that at some point. Connect to WiFi and make phone calls Voip. thumb.gif

Yup...GD or anything else...I like it more and more. Every day I learn some thing new. My son got one too. He's showing me all the cool things it can do.

I bought my wife one and that thing rocks. There is no lag when going online compared to my storm. I am trying to find out if the droid supports blackberry e-ail for my work. I would switch in a heatbeat.

Thankyou guys that link worked. Its bookmarked now and now I am mobile with GD. As far as Google voice I think mine has it. It has a voice activation under Voice Dialer and then says google search. As for you Football fans, I installed for free an application that covers whatever game you want. Really cool. Tells you play by play and what down it is, etc. Its called Live Football Scores.
Lepimpster
Queen, what application was for the star gazing? And was it free?

There is an app on the iPhone for this (star gazing), but not free. It was a small charge and I can't remember the name but a buddy has it and says it works awesome!

My says Google Sky Map. I looked it up after reading this. Cool feature...

Oh yeah, its free. So far all the apps I see are free.
DURAMAXYFZ
Google sky map is very cool,When we go the desert we will usually go out at night and find a really dark spot and check out the stars and have a couple cold ones. My buddy had bought a star book but it got stolen.
Lepimpster
Ok I found it, it was under Verizon apps. I'll try it out tonight

Just spent a few hours in a Verizon tonight with a friend over some phone issues and getting anew one. There were 6 droids being turned in due to issues and people wanting out of them, mind you this was in a Hemet location, I could not imagine a busy store. I thought the new motorola was sick as hell, but after trying to use it for business purposes and viewing the office aps and stuff I was not so happy. But it's the first and give it 6 months when google gets the droid system better and the phone manufactures get on the ball. Too bad they pushed the phone out the door too fast, cool phone not great.

Brian,

It absolutely supports exchange, and any other POP email such as cox.net. It will seperate them into two messages folders, one for work, one for home. Also will sync your calendar, contacts etc. Lots of folks getting these, no complaints I have heard yet.

On a side note, federal judge smacked ATT down in their lawsuit over "theres a map for that" commercials. laughing.gif

Let me know if you have any other questions! Reminder, I work for a company that supports ALL carriers, and can hook you up for your business support for wireless needs. icon_biggrin.gif *free eSquared (company I work for) plug there* We support businesses worldwide, so you don't have to be a Zonie to sign up. 25deal.gif

whats the differance between the Motorola and HTC Droids?
rivermobster
Personally, I never seen anything from Motorola work worth a crap (for me anyway, im hard on phones, and went thru countless razors, each would only last me 3 months!). Switched to a Crackberry Pearl, and had a whole lot better luck. I just got the NEW Blackberry Bold (the 9700 that was just released) and man this thing works AWESOME. Kicks azz with my wifi here in the house and the messaging/e-mail features are great. Google makes great working apps just for this phone, stuff that you'll actually use.

I dont give a crap about all those foo-foo apps, i need a damm phone that works. This thing absolutely gets the job done.

I'll never own a Motorola product again. plthumbsdown.gif

I have the motorola and I love it. I care about all the foo foo apps and love messing with them.

The Verizon store told me that it can't be tethered yet, but that probably towards the end of the 1st quarter tethering will be available.

The nice thing about open platforms (WM, Android and while not as open still open enough Blackberry and WebOS) is that you don't have to wait for the provider to make something possible:

<-------- still loving the Droid......the apps are what make this such a fun phone. They may be limited compared to the iPhone, but they seem endless to me; some useless, some helpful, but all are fun. The download speed is great and the volume is quite loud! The camera isn't the best, but overall, I love this phone and will stick with it for some time thumb.gif

I've got the Motorola droid.. best phone I ever had. AND... I travel to holland all the time which is GSM network, not CDMA... however there's a FREE droid app called SIP-Droid. Allows you to call using VOIP as long as you can connect to a wifi hotspot. So.. fly into amsterdam.. connect to the hotspot, use sipdroid to call my friend to come pick me up!! Awesome!
