I just bought a new Stellar 34' 5th wheel : )

im towing it with my 04 F-250 CC short bed with 4" lift on 35's

i have a Reese 16k with slider

when hooked up, the trailer is just a little high in the front. I just installed my trailer levels, they say its 2" high in the front.

I searched on here for a while, I can lower my hitch one hole witch is about 1 1/4" however my bed to trailer clearance is already about 8" in the front and 7" toward the back so im not sure if thats a great idea.

my question is, should i worry about 2"? I know the axles can be flipped etc etc... but is that gonna make it too high? I only have 3 adustment holes on the hitch, im in the middle now, so its 1 1/4" up or 1 1/4" down if i flip the axles... i see most ppl that flip the axles are running about a 6" lift or more...

so should i;

1) run it

2) lower the hitch one hole (1 1/4") (also lowers the bed to trailer clearance)

3) Flip the axles, adjust the hitch and hope it levels it out.

4) don't flip the axles, but look into an alternate lift of some sort for the trailer.

im heading to glamis tommorow afternoon! camping on gecko. If you see a Black and Orange harley edition with a single Black 6" stack in the bed towing a 34' stellar, thats me!

lets see a pic of the setup from the side. id honestly say you shouldnt have any issues. i run my 5er about an inch high in the front

Too much angle can put more of a load on one axle...

Lower the truck back to stock height, put 33 on it and sell the lift on E-bay. Save the money to replace the rear window when you blow it out hitting the 5th wheel against the driver’s side of the rear window with that short bed. Everyone I know with a short bed has done it at least once.

Thats helpful.

Flip the axles on the trailer. Being too high on the front will cause wear on the most aft tires due to more load on them.

yup! i had an 01 shortbed Duramax, towed a 5er with no slider and blew out the back window. thats why i have a slider in my truck now...

So if i flip the axles and adust the hitch all the way up and I end up with the trailer nose down this is better?

Ill post a pic sometime soon, thanks for the replys

I didnt say have it in a nose down condition, nor did I say anything about adjusting the hitch. Obviously you'll flip them to make the trailer level. If you have it in a nose down condition, you'll have too much hitch wieght and not enough wieght on the front tires possibly.

Everyone that I know that blew out the rear window had a sider hitch.
