Double Trouble

Thouht I would share a cool story that happened this Friday Thanksgiving weekend.
So some of the KIK are killin the dunes and on our way back to camp out behind Osbourn we roll up on a Mint condition quadzilla 500. This thing was beautifull!! Just sitting there all alone. We stop to have a couple of cold bevs waiting to see if the owner would come riding up. We even sent out some people to follow the footsteps in the sand but no luck. We decided rather than to just leave it to be picked apart we towed it to the ranger station. BTW the rider even left his helmet and gloves. After we dropped it at the ranger station we decided to stop at Sweet Maries for some tacos. After we finished and was heading back to camp a small car pulling a bike trailer pulled in next to me at sweet Maries and got stuck. The driver came over to me to what i thought was to ask for help to get unstuck. That wasn't the case he actually came over to thank me for helping him at Olds when he was having a problem with his bike. I explained to him that it wasn't me that helped him. He then said it looked like my car but it didn't matter to much anyways because on his way back from the hill the bike had ran out of gas and he couldn't remember how to get back to were he left it. I then asked him what kind of bike he was riding and you guessed it! It was the bike we towed back to the ranger station. Before I told him though I had asked him if he left anything on the bike and he said yes his helmet and gloves. I then pointed him to the rangers and said your bike is waiting for you over there. He was one happy mofo!!!! Left his car there stuck in the sand and ran to the ranger station.
So call it carma, good luck or whatever you want, it was kinda cool to see the end of this story. Not to mention...what are the odds that the guy just happened to get stuck right next to me??????

Guess that makes up for living me and my blown quad on top of a dune for a few hours while the Krew carved some bowls, jumped some dunes, and ate tacos at Sweet Maries.

That the example we want to set out there. Just like duners used to do it back in the day, everyone would always stop and help anytime, even if it "spoiled" their ride/day & be happy to help.
way to represent.

Isn't a vehicle abandon in the dunes like a boat abandon in the ocean, you get to claim it???
Just kidding. Great story, you guys did a good good thing.

its awesome to hear stories like that,
I think I hear more good hearted stories from fellow GDers. So often you hear of someone stealing something or soething getting stripped
in the dunes it can sometimes feel like your surrounded by azzhats and idiots, but reading some the stories here reminds me that there are alot of good people @ the Dunes still
the KIK took care of a duner
that duner probably did something good for someone else on his way home...keep paying it forward

Dave,
When I came out and stayed with WB for the night late last winter when out on business; the KIK all seemed to be of the same character you described in your story; solid. This does not surprise me at all....

I wish the best karma for you and the rest of the krew. Mark

That is a awesome story........I always want to help people in situations like that, In this case I would have been too worried that someone would think I was stealing in and that would make me hesitate towing it back.......I am Glad to see it all worked out!!!!!! Hearing a story like this reminds you that there are still good people in the dunes......Thanks for posting this and bringing back a little faith in the Glamis croud.......
