Mendeola Transaxles
We have released the new design of the MD4S main case casting
It has a new structural look.
some added strength
and a lower profile

above you will notice the exterior structure taking on the look of it bigger brothers with added webbing
above you will see 2 extra 1/2" dowel pins to shore up the main case @ the bellhousing end
above notice the bottom of the case is flush with the main bellhousing support ring
this will allow the gearbox to sit another 1/2" lower in the chassis.
also notice a 1/8" pipe hole for a temperature probe so now we can add a gauge and know the temp on the tranny.
we have added more mass to the load area around the 3/4" deflection bolt area

Cool, now let's torture test it, hehe! moof.gif

So if we already have s 2D is there any benefits for us to change from our current cast to the new case? if you were redesigning the case why not make room for a bigger reverse that is really the only major drawback to the 2d the needs a fix. Why not work on fixing it?

I am looking to upgrade from a 091 to a 2D. What can I do to change the color of the case? I like the look of the dark gray on the Albins. Can I hard anodize it?

That color comes from the shot peen they use during blasting
I have changed the color on these by soaking them in water and bleach. dulls the finish kind of like the Albins

Sweet. Thank you. I am changing the scheme of my car with dark suspension components and just thought it would never hurt to match sometimes.

Sweet like said above any benefit to moving over to this case? If there is what is the cost to move my stuff over? Can we trade ours in if they are in good condition with no problems? beer.gif

This is a wonderful question and many ask:
We make three models, and in the models are several different series that are built off that platform model.

first model is the MD4S:
first in series is the MD4E
second in series is the MD4S-2D
third in series is the MD5S

second model is the S4:
first in series is the S4S
second in series is the S5S
third in series is the S4D
fourth in series is the S5D

third model is the HD:
first in series is the HD4s
second in series is the HD5S*
third in series is the HD-TT*

fourth and a new entree is the LQ:
first in series is the LQ-6
second in series is the LQ-5
third in series is the LQ-4*

fifth is our street entree SDR:
first in series is the SDR-5
second in series is the SDR-6*

* are proposed in our future line up

Unfortunately, this new case does not just bolt right in. At least not in my Tatum. It's close but not perfect. Two of the front ribs hit my front mount. I had to grind down one rib and grind down one of the mounts. Then at the rear I had to drill out one of the holes. I'm just saying, it would have been nice if Mendeola would have been more precise with the mounting locations.

No, the physical distance between holes on the same mounting plate didn't match up. And the ribs up front wouldn't allow the tranny to sit down low enough. I'll try to post some pictures later.
