We had the $5 tshirt dude stop by camp. Got my shirt and then the rest of the group starts talking about how there are 2 different shirt spellings. I never noticed. I always say I am going to Gordon's Well, then someone else says the freeway sign says Gordon Wells coming in from Yuma. So as we leave to go home I make sure to look at the sign. Sure enough, it's Gordon Wells.

Just thought it was funny I never noticed that before.

Proabbaly mixed up from people calling it "Gordon's" for short as opposed to "Gordon Wells"

We have laughed about this a ton of times. If you come from San Diego the sign for the exit says "Gordon's Well Rd." If you come from Yuma it says "Gordon Well's Rd." So as to the real name I don't know... but I come from SD so it's Gordon's to me tongue.gif

Jeez. Now I can't recall what I used to say. You guys got me all mixed! Both sound familiar but I'm not positive

"Gordon's well" makes sense, "gordon wells" does not. Down the 8 there is "grey's well". so.....

Ya Gordon's Well is the name, the sign on the west bound side is misspelled. Interesting story on GW.COM about the history of the place.

I never noticed the "Gordon Wells" sign until this weekend. Though being the longest trip yet in my "new" 1976 RV I was a bit more alert than normal.

I had never heard or seen the "Gordon Wells" version before. Not sure where it suddenly came from.

The Wife is allways correcting me about this She says Gordon only had one well so it's Gordon's Well. Of course we stop at Tom Wells Road outside Ehrenburg....She don't have anything clever to say about that one.

We always called it Gordon's Well....cause there is a Grey's Well and a Gordon's Well dunno.gif
