I have an old three wheeler with a huge four stroke in it. I need to just have it gone through. Nothing of much performance just pistons, rings, and carb work. Who or where is the best and cheapest. Or are there any mechanics that want side jobs here??
Thank you in advance

come on here I am sure someone rebuilds these things. I really am clueless when it comes to these. I was told that dealerships dont work on anything older than mid 80s

That custom bike was the shite in it's day. People started fooling around with the 250R frames and XR500 engines and bam, you have an instant king of the hill. At the time of course. My cousin has one that he built with the help of Randy at eye ball engineering. 185s axle and hubs, custom fiberglass fender. It's still fast, even needing a top end like it does.
Where are you located at? I know some shops up here in the 909 that might be able to help you out.

Shocker thank you but I wouldnt know what to do with it.
fireballsocal Yes it is allot of fun. Another crazy thing is it is street legal. That is why I want to make sure the motor is in top notch. 75 m.p.h down the freeway is real scary if the motor goes. (yes it has a spedometer) The bike is awesome. I dont know if you have seen me in the dunes but it is huge. I use nobbies and it does great. I am in San Diego but I will go wherever.

I talked to my cousin who has an XR500 powered three wheeler. He recommended Norms Cycle and ATV in San Bernardino, formerly Norms ATC. (909) 885-7667 Norms has been around for a long time. Doubt they are the cheapest but they know what they are doing. If anything, maybe they can recommend someone close to you that can do the rebuild.

Doesnt Alba do motor building and stuff? Ive bought quite a bit of different stuff from them and the service was great. I know they have a dyno and all that.

Brandon, have you called Poway Motorcycle yet? they work on tons of older bikes and the few times I have dealt with them they did good work. They are right by Golden State on the corner of Poway and Community.
