Burt, awesome it's coming along. I was worried as well, you disappeared for a while there.
Ya with work and my 16 month old son it's been hectic, but good. Things are starting to move and hopefully I will be making a trip to San Diego before the summer is up to one, get out of the AZ heat and two, most importantly, get the final wire job done in time for Halloween! I'll post pics as things happen.

Anyone got a quick disconnect steering set up for a momo wheel laying around? Got a momo wheel for my birthday from a buddy

I need a quick disconnect, 3/4" 18' steering shaft with 36 tooth spline on one end. I'm close to making vroom vroom sounds from the driver seat! Happy Tuesday!

Little update,
Picked up a motor this weekend! Going to be a side project for me as parts start coming in. I picked up a L92 from Squatcher and plan on converting it over to a LS3 with a cam and possibly stroking it. Ordered the VVT delete kit and some other stuff to get it started. We'll see how it turns out and if I come out ahead or not. If anything it will be an awesome learning experience on building an LS series engine. Wish me luck!!!
Shocks should be here in a few weeks along with pedals and steering components. Next is rear hubs/brakes and wheels to get this biatch rolling!
Later!

I keep thinking about it, but Im afraid to tear the bottom end apart. I can handle the heads and a cam. Im just going to get stiffer springs and push rods and throw a cam in it for now. I can always stroke it next summer. Please send me your contacts on the harness. Are you just using the GMPP LS3 set up and having it tuned. At around 800 bucks it seems like a good deal and I can sell the DBW throttle body and pedal set up along with the various other parts on fleabay to recoup some of the costs.

Picked up my shocks yesterday, been ordering some parts for the engine to get that ready to roll. Wife cracked the whip on a back patio project that needed to be done so that took a good chunck out of the ol' wallet. Happy wife, happy life! Soon as I mount the shocks I'll get some pics up. I still have my eye on the prize. Little stuff like gauges and tie rods, heims and brake and clutch pedals are in as well. Just need the rear hubs/brakes and the rims and she'll be standing. Hope to order those in the next few weeeks. Getting close......

It looks like I will be putting an S4 on order next week. This is the largest piece of the puzzle to knock out. Only things left from then are rear hubs, axles/ 934's, rims, power steering rack/plumbing, wiring and finishing the motor up.

The hard lines were done by Revenge before the crap went down, thank god. I would have been lost on that stuff. Here is a crappy shot of the newest part. In about 2 weeks I should be ordering wheels rear hubs/brakes to get it rolling and I am still waiting on my bypasses from Fox. I kind of sacrificed getting this done quicker by buying the S4D, but I know it was the smart decision in the long run.

Wish I lived closer to you so I could get some ideas on how you did your trailing arms on the 4 seater to gain a little more travel. Small update:
I am almost finished with the engine. I started with a '07 L92 (same block as LS3) out of an escalade and stripped it down to block and rotating assembly. They came with VVT (variable valve timing) and I didnt want to mess with that for this application so I deleted that mess, had to remove the cam, cam gear and coverplate. Replaced the cam with a CBM custom grind from Comp and a cam gear and cover from an LS2 to seal that up. Next was the top end. Stripped the L92 heads and replaced the weak truck valve springs with some for a LS3 I scored new from ebay for 50 bucks and some Manley hardened chromoly push rods for cheap insurance. I also traded the truck intake for a new LS3 intake and billet fuel rails courtesy of CBM. I had to get rid of the deep oil pan from the truck so Clay Forrestor of F-R-E gave me a good deal on a camaro pan, gasket, windage tray and pick up that he had "laying around". Torqued every thing down to specs and found a GTO (same layout as F-body package)accessory package on LS1tech.com for 400 bucks!!!! That included all brackets, power steering pump, water pump, idler and tensioner pulleys, harmonic balancer and alternator and on top of all of that he was 3 miles away from my office! So I am about 85% done with the engine project. I am waiting on the computer, harness and throttle body from Painless to ship out and from there I will only need to plumb into a fuel system and radiator to spark that beyotch! This is my first attempt at a motor build so I have been super nervous, but have confidence in my ability. We'll see the first time we hit that button.
As for the rest of the car......I was in SDHQ yesterday and ordered my rear hubs, wheels and correct springs for the rear shocks to get this thing "officially" rolling. I went with the Gear One 6 piston 934 set up with the steel inserts as most have recommended and went with the Raceline "sand renegades". Hopefully by the time they come in my bypasses from Fox will be in. Been about 9 weeks now, kinda pizzin me off, but nothing I can do about it at this point.
I wanted to say thanks to Bruce at CBM for all of the advice and engine hook ups, appreciate it very much. You are a class act for sure.
Also a huge shout out to the crew at SDHQ in Gilbert. Ryan and Serena, thanks for all of the hook ups on most of my parts needed to finish this project, we're almost there! I owe you guys a great deal, thanks for being so supportive! For anyone needing off road parts, fabrication or anything related think of these guys first. They have some awesome projects going on in their shop and I don't think there is anything they cannot do.
THANKS!!!!!!!

Sorry, I didn’t look at this thread in awhile. The 2 seater is doing great. It has 2 short course race weekends and 2 desert races under its belt. The first desert race we ripped the right upper a-arm from the chassis at mile 60, which ended our day.

We just did the Extreme Outlaw race in Reno last Saturday and finished the race. We had 3rd overall in the bag with only about 30 miles left, when the right front spindle decided to leave the upright, sending the car into a spin and the wheel about 300 yards down the course. We got it fixed in about an hour and took 14th overall. It was still a great day…
The 4 seater is sitting in my garage taking up space. I need to clean it up and sell it, some day… Do you want to buy it?

ehh it's only been 43 months since I ordered the car originally, not that I am counting though.
Remaining items needed:
Computer & harness for LS3
Radiator 28" x 16"
Fuel system
Power steering rack and servo, set up for Gear one 2.5
Clutch, flywheel pressure plate for the S4D
Axles, 2 934's and boots.
Beard seat sliders
Misc. AN fittings and hoses for power steering, radiator, fuel tank and fuel lines.
So I figure another 8-10 grand and she's done. Soooooo close!!!!!!!!! Thanks for the thumbs up!

You might have to make a larger loop over the radiator, because it is taller, and you might need to modify the base, so it will fit. I gave Justin my radiator when he built my chassis, so it might be a little different.
If you find you can use it, send me a PM and I’ll give you a PayPal address.
