TROPHY KART and WELLER RACING
present
SR1 CLASS TO DEMO AT STADIUM KART WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
Milestone Ranch, Riverside Ca January 31st

Chandler, AZ (12/15/09) Weller Racing’s highly anticipated SR1 class, consisting of modified Yamaha R1 powered race Rhinos, will debut their first demo race of the season during the Stadium Kart World Championship race to be held at Milestone Ranch, located in Riverside, CA on Sunday, January 31st, 2010.

This event will mark the first race for this brand new class of 160-180hp, two-wheel drive, chain driven Rhinos, and will showcase the potential of these new machines to hundreds of spectators. While built to run on longer tracks, the SR1s can also handle smaller, tighter tracks with ease, and not only sound cool, but will be fun to watch as well.

In partnership with the Stadium Kart World Championship race, the field of SR1s will take over the track during intermission on Sunday, for a no-holds barred race to the finish. With practice being run on Saturday as well as Sunday, the unmistakable sound of the SR1’s four-cylinder street bike engine will no doubt draw people trackside to see what the fuss is all about.

Stay tuned for updates as this event draws near! For more information about the Stadium Kart World Championship, visit Stadium Kart World Championship.

Does it have to be chain driven?

What about a 180hp transaxle driven Polaris??

Have been to a Rhino Race and it could be best described as watching paint dry....... When 6 Rhino's take off and one breaks a belt at the gate fixes it and still finish's 2nd it's not much of a fan pleaser.

That being said was watching a couple of these R1's practice Sunday afternoon at ET Motopark and this Class should be wild as hell. I could not believe the power they had. And not one broke while we were there.

You were out there last weekend? Yeah, they are a blast to race, and they just sound cool! LOL! smile.gif I think 2010 has the potential for being a really good season!

yep. I've got one in process. I am currently converting the Lucas Oil/SDR Motorsports rhino into a SR1 car. The R1 is in and running, just have to plumb the radiator, and finish up the brakes. As soon as I get my Weller rear uprights, it will be on the road. I should have some video soon after the new year. And of course, I'll be at the SR1 demo race at Milestone!
450grl
Those uprights should be out to the public soon....we should have just about everyone up and running well before the demo race! smile.gif

I gotta say this event looks like it is going to be off the hook.

All the most important elements to make this successful.
- attractive venue
- talented competition
- activities and attractions for all
- organized promotions
- successful track record
- cutting edge equipment

Just my opinion and feedback as an outsider and a fan of racing.
I know where ill be on the 31st of January.
