I hope I can post this here.

Who they are?

I'm going to post and answer my own question.

I've never been to Pismo, so why should i join?

Answer: Because all OHV groups need to rally together and fight. We all have a common goal, and that is keeping/expanding our riding areas. A court case won for Oceano can have a lasting impact on other offroading areas including Ocotillo, St Anthony and the ISDRA to name a few.

If you want to keep riding for all areas, keep the industry alive and fight the powers that try to shut us down... join every OHV group you can. There is a power in the numbers we have, unfortunately we just don't have the solidarity right now.

Thank you and yes, that is the philosophy I've been preaching for years and is how I would've answered your question too.

I've been following the Pismo battles and the FoOD group for 10 years and the current litigation is the worst I've ever seen. I know that the current leadership is tired of asking for donations and they certainly did not ask me to post this. Did it on my own. But I do know that fighting these lawsuits isn't cheap.

On another note, I just read how the enviros were successful this week in temporarily shutting down Carnegie SVRA pending an environmental study of the OHV effect on a creek that runs 4 to 6 weeks a year and dissapates into a field. wife.gif There is no limit to what these guys can think of and they do it because they know the State is broke and sometimes unwilling to committ the funds to fight so they end up settlling.

Spend some time on the Blue Ribbon Coalition site and you will see how depressing our situation is right now. Its not just about sand; its snowmobiles, personal watercraft, forest service trails, the list goes on and reflects just how liberal our state is.

It sucks. It's time to vote these knucleheads out.
