Hey all:
I just took a 2000 400EX in trade for something I hope of lesser value, however, I'm hoping to turn it quickly for cash. I am a little behind in market values-especially with the higher performing 4-strokes out these days.
The quad is clean, has newer race plastic/seat, DMC pipe (supposedly jetted appropriately), extend front a-arms suspension, renthal bars, twist throttle, aftermarket bumper, and a recent rebore (.010" over). It has good maxis rubber but cheesy steel wheels painted black with the fake "bead lock" look on the front.
It seems to run strong (not like my banshee) with no obvious problems from my 5 minute ride.
I thought I would post it here and a couple other sites plus the cycle trader. So realistically, this late in the season, and lookin' to turn it quickly, what do you think it is worth?
Thanks,
'Bob

Im saying around 6 grand, is this your bike? i think it is worth around 6 g's, suspension and a-arms arent cheap and is that the stock swingarm? I dont pay attention to the 400ex's so im not sure what the stock swingarm looks like, thats a nice bike you got there

Definitely looks good. What kinda shocks?
Quick turnaround would be $4-5,000. Problem with selling for $6,000 is that you can get a sweet Banshee or even a new 450. Desert people won't be willing to pay a lot for a 400EX. Back East guys might like it.
Other than the suspension and engine work, everything else is cosmetic. Without paddles and razors, the buyer will have to for out 450 to 600 bucks on wheels and tires.
Stick with $5,000. See if it sells and you make some profit

like bansh said, out here in ca its hard to get over 5 for a 400ex. backl east you might get it. kinda hard even though it has mods to much more than 4500 for a 400ex since you can buy a brand new one for 4200 from alot of dealers.
