Looking to level the trailer up a bit and drop the 5th wheel hitch down a hole, its in the third from the bottom out of four now. What is a good rule of thumb on distance between the truck bed and the fifth wheel over hang?

If I remember when I set mine up a few years ago, 5 inches comes to mind. Obviously, the more the better, as there will be less chance of ever hitting, but I am pretty sure that 5 inches was the number.

If you have a rocker fith wheel hitch at least 8 inches for in out of driveways

I have a long bed and the more the merrier. I think mine is 6 inches plus.

Oh that doesn't sound right, but oh well!! laughing.gif

Snap a pic for us. Every setup is different ie; long bed, short bed, hitch style, distance from rear truck axle to center of trailer axles etc etc. All kinds of variables.....

WHAT'S NEXT?
Your going to want to have 6-8 inches.
