I AM DEAD SEIOUS ABOUT THIS.
I have a way to get to a chasis dyno in anahiem. If we get a healthy list of people all who will pitch in atleast 50 bucks, I maybe able to talk the owner of the dyno into alittle King of the rollers day...
WHOSE IN??? you all claim you got the power... now lets see what the Dyno has to say... (and a dyno on a 3rd parties site) BRAND spanking new Dyno Jet chassis dyno ready to be spun.
Thanks for the offer but I don't think were having dyno wars......everyone thats doing this knows just about what there putting down....only the guys on the sideline that don't want to race can claim BS numbers...

If everyone went to the dyno, Booshy wins. Other than that it is whose car gets the power to the ground and pedal to the metal.
I wouldnt be to sure about that all the heavy hitters are running over 20psi of boost so I think the playing field is pretty even....

The biggest advantage SV is that there is no lip and you can see who and what is in front of you. Cars only ....so no one else but the drivers will be in danger. Guys, you dont have to have silly HP to run with us, just be 700+ so that you dont get left like an ugly girl when the sun comes up!

As for the dyno thing all it really does is give a number and bragging rights the real test is how you put it the HP to the ground. If i had a car capable of running i would want to run it against other cars. Not a machine that would poss leave me with lower numbers than car A or B.

I think people will start spectating and then begin to cross the big end as usual, I don't see why we don't keep the same venue, what's wrong with what has worked fine in the past?

what's wrong with what has worked fine in the past?Because having a huge dip/jump at the end of a drag strip with cars going over a 100 mph is STUPID! But hey, that's JMHO. But don't say that a lot of folks in this thread didn't point that out to all you racers...

To easy for a quad or Rhino to get hurt crossing the big end of the original drags. You would have to cone off a 1/2 mile to be safe, but you cannot use cones on a non sanctioned non insured event i hear. So what do you guys think about staying at the new location and running them the opposite direction...toward the rangers station. Gives a nice little rise to carry a wheelie if your into that kinda thing like me

Use the bushes on the other end as a starting gate. There's a clear divide that way as well

A safe "shut down" area is important in my opinion... As this event progresses, the cars are going to start getting faster and faster... We all know that's a fact. So what turned out OK at the last race, might not work so well when you add more and faster cars... Again, that's just my opinion.
And you guys might want to think about taking this thing underground so you don't have a zillion bystanders to contend with. You can always video it and post the results here after the race it is over... Or do it at a off time or weekday. Having it anywhere near the regular Sand Drags on a Saturday @ 4:00 is a big mistake...

if iv'e made 1 pass iv'e made 30 at that exact location, no problem controlling the car. by the way, the track was shortened to avoid the second roller wich in my opinion was the dangerous one.

I would definitely like to Reverse the direction of the track. It seems more likely to find someone trying to go around the back of road runner on the canal side, potentially creating a safety issue. I doubt many people will cross the road to come over that hill the other direction, and if they do they have an above-down view of what is going on giving them less of a surprise than the previous direction used. Moving everyone down that way to block off that south end should alleviate some anxieties.

No. It's been a rolling start (20-25mph) with a flag drop for approx. 1/4 mile , maybe a little less. Standing starts create to much axle/transmission/cv failure.
