I will be camping in the washes next week and I will need to run into Yuma for some business.
What I have done in the past is driven my street legal Jeep to the RR crossing at wash 39/40, taken
the county roads to Ogilby Rd. and I8 into Yuma. With the new road to wash 25 is this still possible.
Is the crossing at 39/40 still open? Thanks for the help. (Looking for answers from someone whose
been in that area recently.)

there is a chain across the train track crossings.
And this fence is around wash 26 I think.
I saw some folks camped at wash 32 and they drove up from Ogliby road

I thought I read somewhere that they took out the crossing. You can get to the 8 going down the old wash road; I did it once in a Taxi. ph34r.gif

NO more Xing at wash 40! I wish they would replace it.

Ever since the train wreck that took out the tower, there is no more crossing.
